I feel like the dirty little secret of the Chiefs' run is the AFC not being nearly as deep as it actually seems. It's like when LeBron kept making the finals for a decade because East was just so ass that being the one competent team was a free pass to the finals. I mean, seriously, who are the Chief's main competition in the AFC?
Their main nemesis is the Bills, who are a legitimately inept franchise singlehandedly kept afloat by Josh Allen. Allen played one of the best games of all time, walked off the field with 13 seconds left and the lead and still lost because his supposedly defense-minded coach couldn't hold a lead for 1/5th of a minute. Half his defense drops dead every year and that's not even an exaggeration, one of them actually died on the fucking field. And this is the BEST non-Chiefs AFC team.
They also have to face the Ravens, whose qb is a notorious playoff choker with a 17 wonderlic score, the Dolphins, whose qb has seizures when he gets tackled and unironically can't function in cold weather, the Steelers, who Still can't admit Tomlin is a mediocrity because it's racist or something, the Texans, who have been actually good like one fucking time and had to ditch the qb who led them there because he was a peanut oil serial rapist, and the Bengals, who somehow got over on the Chiefs once despite being a complete joke of a franchise who are actively murdering their star qb. Oh and the Raiders, Chargers, Jets, and post-Brady Pats.
