Look, all I know is that there's another Mage of Space in HSG and it's freaking me out. Then there was another Mage who was a nudge off my sign too. Who other Mages we dealing with here?

Condesce is the narrative's designated jobber, a significant but ultimately manageable threat that the good guys can bump off to get some momentum going into the final boss. There are other characters that fill this role out (Aranea,) but comparing any of them to Condy would be like comparing gas station sushi to fucking Omakase.

>homestuck (directed by fucking vivziepop) animated show announced right after the UHC gets nuked

This is exactly what Homestuck fans deserve. I hope it's even worse than I think it's going to be.

The good news here is that Vivzie couldn't possibly do a worse job at writing the story than Hussie did, but I'm expecting a 50 Shades of Grey situation where anything even remotely productive gets torpedoed by Hussie because he's a terrible person and hates his story.

Homestuck lampshades pretty much everything it does because Hussie is a terminally dishonest, irony-poisoned mental midget and his style of writing essentially boiled down to doing something stupid, going "isn't that stupid??" and then doubling down on it instead of writing anything that could be considered "fun" or "rewarding." It's a drama where none of the characters give a fuck about what's happening; it's a video game where the video game mechanics are never really elaborated upon and might as well not exist after a point. It's a character study where the characters all fumble about for thousands of pages and learn nothing about themselves or anyone else; it's a comedy that isn't funny.

I thank God that Toby Fox actually tries to engage his audience emotionally and wants them to have a fun time, Homestuck was a 12-year-old's piss-take wrapped in a mystery box wankfest, and there's no point in describing it as anything but someone trying and failing at a lot of things within the same framing device. At least some of the characters were hot.
