Yes.
People, by and large, will NOT engage in conversation with someone they do not already know.
I live in a small town in the south, but it has all the friendliness of your average large city, with NONE of the amenities.
People did not suck this bad in the late 20th century, or the beginning of this one.
Old people now are the worst.
Before, old people acted like...OLD PEOPLE.
Now, these boomer douche bags act like a bunch of spoiled brats who never grew up, and accuse everyone younger of being entitled.
This is the worst generation of elders I can imagine.
