Consult Abel and Cain and critically think about the context.
Abel simply trusts the blood of the lamb.
Cain trusts his own effort with no blood.
Cain kills Abel when God rejects Cain’s. Cain is a religious man, he’s directly interacting with God in context and still doesn’t trust him. This has nothing to do with atheism, it’s a false categorization. If religious men could deny Jesus while he preformed miracles in front of them, then atheists using evidence is a complete and total distraction in that regard. Assuming a God existed, the evidence for him would literally be everything. The athiest will never assume this. It’s a total lack of faith. That’s the actual issue, it’s not on the basis of rationality that they deny God, it’s just cope because they know if they outright acknowledge him and then reject him, they know what comes after.
So naturally, these people will just cope with themselves holding onto some spiteful mindset as it railroads them to hell because they don’t want to admit they’re not a perfect person.
Religion enables this mindset even more to a far more MILITANT degree because religious people aren’t necessarily believers. You don’t need to believe in a God to be religious and you don’t need to be religious to believe in God.
Religious people trying live by a perfect law are condemned, because they’re trusting themselves. Where as a believer accepts the condemnation from the law, but appeals to God’s grace by believing the gospel. Which is quite literally what the Bible is suggesting you do.
Religious people then get pissed because you refuse to cling to your pride like them, they may attempt to kill you or something of that caliber, slander you, deliberately misrepresent what you say….
Yeah there’s no difference between atheism and religion, both of them reject the gospel. At this point religion becomes physical evidence of Satan’s existence
