Here's the truth about Mare:
Most users were boring, didn't use many mods and mostly just had more shapely bodies or anything other than Hank HIll ass. The modbeasts weren't even liked in that community because they often caused crashes and overloaded file limits and refused to optimize their setup or even pare it down.

This extends to the Venue scene too. Most of it was boring as sin of people just sitting around in silence, maybe talking about a random thing for a few minutes now and then.

I was part of that world for awhile and never figured out why it was so alluring to people. It was literally mostly nothing.
