Honestly I don't view Elliot Rodger's murders as any more heinous or reprehensible than your typical 15,000 run of the mill murders that happen every year. A black gangster robbing and shooting a convenience clerk for fun. A chad getting drunk and beating his wife to death because he thinks she's cheating on him. Etc. I don't understand why I'm supposed to hate Elliot Rodger so much and treat him like a boogeyman. Is it because he was a virgin and we're supposed to hate male virgins because it's cool? Is it because his murders were specifically directed towards "normies" and I'm supposed to identify as a normie and be offended? This us vs them bullshit. Didn't the guy suffered enough in his life? It seems like this "type" of killer is held to a much different standard than your average random run of the mill killer. Am I alone here in thinking this double standard is bullshit?
