I did it for two years. I didn't really like it, I found the difficulty very inconsistent. You have weeks where the main sets are so easy it's as if they don't matter at all. This is especially apparent in week 1 and 2 of any "5s PRO" variant. So you do a bunch of sets that feel too easy at 65 or 75%, but then it hits you with a practically impossible TM test, where you have to increase your TM by 10 lbs AND do 5 reps at 100% without grinding to "pass", it is so comically more difficult than everything you have done leading up to it, and if you fail you're supposed to deload AND go back to week 1, so you do more sets that feel too easy and as you work your way back to the TM test again you have almost almost no experience at that weight so you fail again. I know wendlertards like to answer any criticism with "well actually this is already addressed in the Dickshitter Template on page 461 of 5/3/1 Forever 3rd edition FINAL FINAL edition for real this time" as if you need this many different books and variants that are all just shuffling the percentages and set order in the week.

picrel is an older pic that's after about two years of running the program, I feel like the only saving grace of the program was doing all the recommended chin ups and dips, because for the main sets I was just spinning my wheels

similar stats as OP. Years of lifting and following /fit/ advice to just be somewhat intermediate according to strength standards. It's kind of discouraging ngl. I'd be curious to know what strength standards would actually be IF they excluded roiders and PED users. of course, on the internet it's impossible to know, as anyone can claim they hit 4pl8s deads for reps in 6 months while natty and running a beginner program, yada yada

feeling kinda bummed out bros, I've been lifting for years (mostly following /fit/ advice doing greyskull variants) but I still feel like a dyel especially with normal clothes on. this is an old photo but months later I look practically the same. is this just the reality of natty lifting ? to work out extremely hard only to hit a ceiling with just intermediate-ish performance ? i'm spinning my wheels here

bulk or cut brehs? 180 lbs natty. I've been perma-recomping for literally years and I feel I have very little to show for it.
