So if Toby originally wanted to make a game like Omori, in what way will he deliberately deviate from it while still keeping whatever essence he was initially committed to? I never played it, but the big twist in Omori is the protag accidentally killed his sister or something right? The prevailing theory is that Kris has some profound trauma surrounding the bunker and Dess. But Toby probably wouldn't do something as predictable (imo) as "Kris accidentally pranked Dess to death". I think Carol and Rudy would outright hate him if they knew that was the truth, unless Asgore covered for him somehow. Clearly he fucked something up big time, or he's been majorly victimized by some other unrevealed entity either past or present. I don't know, just thinking outloud.
