yes, it just makes it ever more obvious that Ridley wanted to make a reboot and do the concept differently but since they needed to pretend it's a prequel, it all has to end up towards the start of Alien even if it makes zero sense and is retarded since everything was way more advanced and better. He didn't want to keep using chestbursters. He was really bored of the alien lifecycle and wanted to fast forwards it. He had one guy get facehugged, never go unconscious, get the hugger off in seconds, but still somehow have an alien inside him that pops out a few minutes later when no one's watching of course. There's no point in trying to take the movies seriously.

You can tell Ridley is VERY tired of the xenomorph. He only extremely reluctantly put it in the movie. Everything about it and its life cycle is sped up to a retarded degree. The alien implants, births, and grows to full size in 5-10 minutes now. This little guy came out of the religious dude and was full size battling them a few minutes later. Some guy (very few names in this movie are memorable) gets a facehugger on him and while still conscious and breathing it is removed. He's fine right? Another guy sacrificed his life to get it off and the acid burned the guy's cheek, but he didn't pass out and no egg was put in. He's doing great, walking around, scared and sore in the cheek but no chest pain or anything. Not like ten minutes later he gives birth to a xeno which is full size 1.5 minutes later and killing people. What the fuck, Ridley?
