i wouldnt really count anything in the melee slot that isn't utility usage. Scout has a scattergun, if he's in melee range and not using his scattergun he fucked up.

the whole point i was trying to make is that the sandman+cleaver is too powerful for what it is. Scout's whole thing is that he's weak at range and has to use his better movement to close the distance todo large damage.
The combo invalidates that need because you can send two of the fastest projectiles down range and kill 6/9 classes in just those two shots. Yes it requires skill but a competent player can master that and invalidate one of scout's major design downsides. Moreover, the stuns would disarm the enemy player and in the case of moonshots completely take away control from them. That shit was annoying man.
Everything else you listed other than maybe bonk and mad milk either requires you get into close range where scout already excels to do competent or more damage compared to the combo. The alternative with the Crit-o-cola or the candy cane is that scout is even more vulnerable than compared to the -15 health the sandman gave.

as much as I love this combo it still requires much more DoT than the combo
