A better question is, why the hell did people WANT it to fail. VR gaming is the inevtible future of the medium. It can either begin happening now, or fail and we wait 10 or 15 years. And if it fails then? We will just wait another 10 or 15 years. But it's inevitable. I'd rather have it sooner than later.
