In Verso's dying moment, she reveals as much as well. From the moment she wakes up as Alicia at the beginning of act 2, her goal is to live a life where her brother didn't die due to her actions.

That's an extremely generous interpretation of Alicia's point of view and an extremely unforgiving one of Renoir's. Alicia's plan was all "I'll stay and papa will help." Renoir's plan was all "We're all leaving and the canvas is going away." This idea that Alicia was ever open to some kind of middle ground is a fiction invented by people who need to feel justified in their ending choice. Alicia was never willing to leave. She was there for the same reason as Aline - to pretend Verso was still alive. Her motivation was even stronger, because she killed him.
