It's funny because that was quite literally what we used to call the middle class, then the upper middle class. My grandfather was the least successful of 6 brothers and was still a millionaire just by sticking with it up until he got his decent promotions when Raygun was president.
Today my mom was telling me about how she had to rent an 'efficiency' apartment, which is like a studio but smaller. Never heard of these, don't exist anymore. But her rent and utilities was only like 500 bucks. Now it's like 1900 bucks for a studio with utilities and other fees included and they can literally reject your application and steal the fee. Rumao.
There are a lot of data centers near me, I was thinking I'd be one of the guys who plugs/unplugs their stuff and get an associates in engineering or something. Maybe in 10 years I can be a little less fucked. Or not. It doesn't really matter since if I'm doing nothing I want to kill myself anyway.
