Regigigas is the same kind of Giant as the ones spoken about in the Flame Plate and the Earth Plate. It is so obvious to Japanese readers that the Japanese Wiki for Plates explicitly describes Regigigas as being one of the giants spoken about in the plates.
This is lost in translation because the English translators just saw synonyms of "giant" and didn't correspond the same characters and root adjective form meaning of the way Regigigas is described and how the Giants on the plates are.
Regigigas is the curse last giant condemned by Arceus to carry the continents and be weakened as it attempt to reform its brothers from earthly materials.
This is blatantly canon to anyone in japanese, just talk to anyone on 2chan.

Exdeath: He is literally evil Xerneas. A spiritomb like entity, but instead of being sealed in an odd keystone the creators used sleeping tree form Xerneas as a vessel to seal away evil spirits. Turns out enough evil souls will eventually corrupt even the purest of spirits eventually. And his name is literally X-DEATH. It feels too perfect.
Ghestal: Fits perfectly with the narrative of creating shadow pokemon, with the active goal of hunting down and making shadow legendaries. Ultimate goal is to capture the creation trio. Kefka would be one of his admins with a sealed Hoopa.
President Shinra: Head of a Silph Co type organization that straight up uses Infinite Energy via massive pokemon harvest reactors. Discovered a fossilized Deoxys and mistook it for a Mew, making extensive use of it's genetic material to make super trainers.

Always thought the Regi's were some of the coolest legendaries.
Honestly makes me want a spin off game where you're restoring Regigigas's power only to find out its hell bent on fighting Arceus and potentially causing a world ending event.

They are a little bit more dubious. Some of the Origin Myth docs state that they took on pokemon form, others just refer to them as creations of Arceus.
In game canon conveys the latter as Sinjoh Ruins lets Arceus just create one from a cosmic egg.
