So, I noticed during the Xfinity race tonight that Mr. World Wide Technology Raceway and the Motigi oval are pretty similar in shape, length and banking and that the IndyCar and NASCAR races at Gateway are typically pretty good. So, I was thinking, what if they fixed the Motigi oval and had a fuckhuge multi year event to cover the cost.
The idea would be a weekend to weekend long event involving as many series as possible. NASCAR, IndyCar, Ausi Supercars, Super GT, Super Formula, WEC, IMSA, SRO, whoever wants to show up and run. There could be events on both the road course and oval with a feature of NASCAR and IndyCar races on both throughout the week and an oval race for both to close out the event (if the Japs can stand for them to headline) and as much practice as possible to make sure the races are good.
Just wall to wall action on both tracks.
It could be the most massive racing event in history. It would cross promote the hell out of all series involved and show Japan as the ULTIMATE motor/sp/orts nation. You could sell daily passed and full even packages. It would also be a typical three year agreement with extension options built in.
The logistics would be insane, but if anyone can do it, it's the Japanese. The crux of the whole thing is the budding NASCAR/IndyCar collaboration brought on by Fox and, of course, the Japanese habit of being Japanese for reasons the white man will never understand.
I know you guys can poke a million holes in this, but it isn't the worst idea and besides some angel investors, it's the only way I can see the oval getting fixed.

They really don't race alike at all. .3 miles is a huge difference to begin with and the lap records are within tenths of each other despite that because Motegi is fucking 40mph faster for an open wheel car and today's Cup pole was 20mph faster than Cup ran at Motegi in the days before tie down shocks and heavy body asymmetry. If you want to put it in numbers, the narrow end at Motegi is wider than the wide end at Gateway and the track is 50% wider, your picture makes it harder to see but the considerably majority of the extra length is in the longer turns. I mean it's not like you can't just go watch it, it raced largely like the cookie cutter tri-ovals used to before they all had their banking raised to make them less boring.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHn1I9oOm6A
You can also see it wasn't exactly a sell out to put it lightly (actually it's the worst attended international motorsports I recall having ever seen in Japan lmao) which is why they never came back.

Fixing it isn't some North Wilkesboro shit or whatever, it would be as much work as a major reconfig at best to level out the track. Which is ultimately minor compared to spending like $100m in sanctioning fees and air freight for one event that it would not be physically possible to park everything for fucking kek.

Unironically need /sp/'s autism here.

Pic related purchased the IHRA Drag Racing series, became the title sponsor of three drag strips, and have been hosting massive drag racing events on the east coast with free entry to all competitors starting this year.

There is literally nobody in the stands but they have as many top fuel and funny cars as NHRA events and are giving crazy prize money figures away to all of the pro classes.

Is this company legit or is there something weird going on here?
Anonymous Canada No.150647268 >>150647936 >>150650453 >>150654900
Pic from eliminations today, there are maybe 500 people in the grandstands but they have a full field of Nitro Funny Car, Top Fuel, multiple Pro Mod divisions along with the complete array of sportsman classes. Entry fees for all the teams were free and the prize money rivals the NHRA. The same company sponsors all of the tracks on the schedule (literally every track is now called Darana Raceway or Darana Dragway) and they have professional coverage free on YouTube.

Unsure if this is the case of a rich boomer who loves drag racing blowing his fortune for a giggle, or if this is all weird.

NASCAR can't get a title sponsor but an east coast drag racing series that died ten years ago has been revived by a random company in Ohio that installs conveyor belts. Either NASCAR leadership is more incompetent than we thought or this is going to be a news story in 1-2 years when it all goes tits up.

It was really quite good. Zillisch won, of course, but there were a lot of good battles throughout the race. I can't remember who it was, but there was one of the best examples of "taking the air off someone's corner" for a pass I've seen in a long time. There was an incident where Jeb Burton hit the wall and drove it back to the pits looking like a Fourth of July picnic and a few late race Juans including one where Allgier gets smacked by 4 or 5 different cars because he just let his car roll down the track. I just watched the highlights and they don't really do it justice.

Well, I don't really know what's going on, but it's pretty based. From what I understand, there can be a lot of gambling associated with drag racing (especially "grudge racing") and gambling is a loooong established way to launder money.
If what this anon is saying is correct
>>150647936
>they have a net of companies
This is very common with illegal operations for various reasons, including money laundering, so it's starting to sound like this entire drag racing thing could be an elaborate way to move money in an apparently legal way. It's also an accepted fact that, to launder money, you basically have to throw a bunch of it away, so why now through it away on racing?
Another thing worth mentioning is that these are also things intelligence agencies do for various legal and financial reasons. I'm not suggesting this is a glow OP, but it wouldn't be the first time the two worlds crossed. See Shadow Racing Cars.
Mind you, this is all completely unfounded speculation and unresearched, but it isn't beyond the realm of possibility. Where are the tracks? That might be enlightening. Are they within a 2 or 3 hour drive from northern Virginia?
Also, seriously, check out Grudge Racing. They be wilin' out on main FR. Say what you want about these guys, but they are some of the most passionate race fans in the world.

A 2025 GT starts at about $47k. That's about $700/month. If you don't give a fuck about saving money, that's in reach of your average blue collar worker. Consider that the base wage for any manual labor job is about $42,000/year or $3,500/ month. Quite simply there's no way that kind of absurd frivolous spending is legit but there's also no way anyone is going to look into it until the cheques stop clearing. Just for starters they can't shut up about how it's a Native American owned business but he is the whitest looking dude you've ever seen in your life.

The funniest shit in this though has to be:
>in March IHRA announces a big event for Maryland International Raceway in August and that it is one of the 7 tracks they are buying
>MIR immediately comes out saying it isn't being sold
>two months later the event is canceled
>last weekend Maryland is added to the NHRA schedule for 2026
Darlington switching from IHRA to NHRA when Cuttell bought the IHRA before subsequently being bought by him is also some comedy.

I met a native American dude who straight up gets a check from tribal gambling revenue. He said the tribe is smart enough to outsource all buisness management to competent white people who just take a slice and pass on the rest.
Yeah, this is all funded by dirty money, but like you said

Thank you. Today is our Independence Day and we are making clear that we don't want to be ruled by communists and drug cartels. Orange Man is helping us in clearing this mess (that resident Biden helped create) and we are thankful.
About "Shitzil", we lost much of our real culture and tradition before we ever had a chance of becoming independent, thanks to MarquΓͺs de Pombal, positivism and freemasonry. The rewriting of history by the Republicans made it even worse. That's the root reason of some of us lacking pride in our country, and the reason for our lack of education in general. We are slowly recovering that, and I hope to see a great Brazil in my lifetime.

I mean, you guys have tariffs that protect your manufacturing sector. I worked for a Japanese automotive manufacturer and we had a plant in Brazil. We could get parts and equipment out of Brazil very easily, but it was expensive as hell to get parts and equipment in. It's a bit frustrating, but it helps keep jobs in your country.
The trouble is, it is very, very hard to ship a used piece of equipment to you guys, even if you can add three shifts for operators and your market has a high demand for the parts it produces.
On the plus side, your operators always get brand new, well running equipment and out guys get your clapped out second hand stuff that is harder to run.
Anyways, Fraga I second and following his teammate. Piquet top 10, I'm happy, or I would be if the could keep it green, kek.

We protect a gimped and inefficient manufacturing sector (unless you have friends in high places) with 60-100% tariffs, depending on the product. The honest entrepeneurs can't import efficient machines from overseas because of that, and they also can't produce their own machines because they get local taxes shoved up their bottoms (half of their production goes to pay taxes and handle bureaucracy). Also, no intelligent person wants to produce great products or innovate because of this. We pay high taxes on absolutely everything, on our food, our houses, our cars (we pay taxes to OWN our cars), and our jobs pay too little. Be very careful with taxation, don't let them go overboard with it

Pay $10 to get $2 in services. I hate it so much, it's unreal.
I'm just sick of getting undercut by foreign labor. The only reason my job even exists is because our owners decided they would rather keep jobs in America than sell out to foreign interests. They could easily make more money by setting up shop in Mexico or China. They also take a hit by preferring to buy tools and materials from companies in state or at least in country.
