Some kind of Stealthsuit Kill Team that's more like the original suits from 3rd edition.

>Nerd pride edition
After months and months of wondering, this prompts me to ask where is the nerd pride for thread creation?
Starting a new thread when the last one was still so high on the catalogue used to be deplored. Yesterday or the day before there were three /40kg/ running with the two older ones on pages 8 and 10. It's nice to see them active but even a few years ago a few of us took pride in waiting for a general to be started at the right time. The previous thread is currently on page 8. Too soon.
>filename
Is it premature because someone thinks they've got dead funny file names so they have to get in with the joke before someone else beats them to it?
>protip that filename is not as funny as op thinks it is
It's not like it's because this thread's thread question is up there with the greats. Sorry OP, but your thread question is kind of bland and Tapostropheau is a joke.)

Wait for page 10 wannabe thread starters. Have some pride.

Delightful. Great job on those, it's lovely seeing them with the forgeworld vehicles because they're a perfect fit. I don't know why, I just love the stuff from Codex Armageddon especially the Steel Legion kits. I wish they weren't obscenely priced because I'd love to have an original set, but at least there's some 3d print files that are damn near carbon copies.

Gorgnard bias, but yeah I find the late 3rd / early 4th edition sculpts for IG to be the golden era. The late metal regiments and then the forgeworld-enhanced plastic kits.

When multipose cadians came out we got a lot more versatility, but at the expense of some grit and dynamism, I think.

That unit actually costs 260 pts because it's Archon+5 Incubi+Venom and then probably also an an enhancement or stratagem to get them into melee without getting overwatched and a pain token they don't get back because they didn't secure the kill. In the scenario you described, they also failed to flip the point the Knight was standing on because they have less OC than the Knight.

I'm not saying that unit isn't very good for its points cost, but it is still a huge investment to fail to kill your target with your trade unit.

That player is still quite whiny, but one of the biggest problems with Dark Eldar is they have theoretically massive damage that is incredibly inconsistent because they have such terrible wound rolls on everything, even if they have very consistent hit rerolls and don't really have access to lethal hits or devastating wounds.

The archon 2++ gimmick is also quite cute, but as soon as you learn to always grenade or tank shock him or just shoot a stubber into him since he only has T3 4W he becomes just as fragile as every other DE unit

I’d agree with you if we were talking about even a Land Raider, but the lancer is 160 pts more than this combo, which if you’re not including the venom is over double, and the ONLY reason it lived was because of having a 4++ in melee. Had it been any other knight they’d have mulched it from full wounds, which is bonkers to me

More suits that aren't massive like the Stormsurge and Ghostkeel, it's been a long time since the Tau got a average looking battle suit. Maybe a auxilliary, earth caste or water caste support unit if you wanna be extra about it. If we are talking about refreshing old units (which seems to be the only thing GW has been doing as of late) please bring back the old metal characters like Aun'Va ans Aun'Shi and those well crafted metal ethereal sculpts.
If anyone even suggests a Gue'La KT im here to remind you lot it's the easiest and most common Tau kitbash anyone could come up with, get to work and make your dudes, GW doesn't need to baby you over something so simple and easy to make that really doesn't need specific rules that much.

Also their army certainly doesn't feel like that mechanically considering its a one phase army instead of being an all rounder who uses the sum of its parts to excel AND 95% of its model range is normal T'au armour aesthetics between the full body armour on the soldiers and the armoured vehicles. There is a reason everyone is pissed about this Codex. It was REALLY easy to do better than they did. Core inquisitorial units are missing and instead we just get every catchall kill team. Deathwatch was so bad they had to release an entire new index for them because it had no rules to use any of your deathwatch marine models. It literally was just the Deathwatch Veteran Kit, Watch Master, Artemis and Blackstar. 4 datasheets. No marine datasheets or vehicles.

The Agents codex is sadly probably the absolute lowest point of all of 10th edition, and they have no intention of fixing it.

My attempt at an Agents Army Rule:

Inquisitorial Requisition:
You can include Imperial Battleline Units up to a max of 3 depending on army size [1 for 1000, 2 for 2000, 3 for 3000]. If you do, you can include 1 dedicated transport or 1 non-Epic Hero character unit with the leader keyword that can be attached to that unit in your army with the same faction keyword as that unit without being counted for purposes of this rule. If you attach an Inquisitor to that unit it gains your choice of 1 of the following Keywords: Ordo Hereticus, Ordo Xenos, or Ordo Malleus.

Sanctioned Doom:

During the deployment step you can select up to 1 unit based on battle size [1 for 1000, 2 for 2000, 3 for 3000] to gain your choice of [Scout] or [Infiltrate].

The thing I hate most about this is they spent 20 years in the lore saying marines didn't use sights because their power armor, helmets and brain were synced up that they can do braced hip fire in any situation with the accuracy of normal human marksmen.

They literally just forgot that part to add more stupid bits on all the primarishart weapons. Primaris unironically lost the most basic superpower that marines had: hip firing any weapon. And what's even more retarded? 99% of marine models do not have them aiming down sight. They still hip fire anyway! ITS A PURELY DECORATIVE WEAPONS SIGHT.

The real answer is just to clip the sight off the weapon.

Tbh all bolters should be T5 and marines T5. Boyz can remain T5. Bolters being unable to consistently would half naked orkz is unironically retarded. For the shit like sisters bolters and storm bolters those can also go up to S5. It would make them fill their anti infantry roll much better and lets face it bolters are mathematically the worst class of weapon in the game at this point, barely better than CCW for guardsmen. Giving them a damage boost is not going to be game breaking, maybe a few of the weapons go up in cost.

Honestly I can't remember the source, probably old codexes talking about power armor. It was also in their IIRC that you can't shoulder a bolter because the armor is too big / shoulders are too big. You can't actually do a cheek weld with astartes armor. I know it was said many times in many different places. I could go read through some old codexes today will I'm watching my kid to see if I can find a source.

Hi again SLAnon, I'm back. Anything I can reply with would just be gibbering like a schoolgirl in front of her favorite 90's boy band, so I will just say it is a pleasure to see one of my favorite armies so thoroughly assembled and presented. Incredible work. I dreamed of owning a FW Thunderbolt and Marauder Destroyer back in the day but they were unobtainium back then, probably even more so today for the original Imperial Armour I era kits.

Crusade is a casual game mode so I can forgive in progress paintjobs. The terrain could at least be spray painted with rattle cans. The marine army looks fine, 1 Repulsor, 1 dread and a bunch of infantry.

the sisters player, however, needs to kill themselves. The paragons are being held in reserve and there are 3 immolators splitting 2 BSS squads between them. Its an almost entirely T9 and up army. 3x Exorcists means literally have his army is going to sit in his deployment zone, make their indirect attacks, then say go. Its guard parking lot with sisters. Absolutely despicable behavior. There is no game here, its just he either stat checks you or doesn't. I can't imagine taking this list to a crusade.

Especially with sisters, where the entire point is to make a living saint with your Saint Potentia.

Orkz and Marines both being tough is fine. It's not power creep to make them both slightly tougher but let every bolter in the game do ANY damage whatsoever to them. This is how I know you don't actually play 10th. If you did, you would have seen thousands of turns of 40 bolter shots doing 2 wounds to an infantry squad and getting bored of that. Bolters are ridiculously underpowered at their intended role. If you don't want Bolters wounding orks more than 5% of the time then make that apply to every single weapon in the game, because every other army has significantly more deadly weapons and Imperials just don't take the units with bolters in any circumstance unless there is some dumb combo bullshit. Bolters being unusably awful is how you get this >>95877060

There are other ways to make a unit more durable than just not taking wounds at all.

Tau have the Stupidity field. Enemies will do stupid shit around them.
Pask was know for not using baneblade, immediately starts using them when facing the tau while just running them straight ahead with no sense of strategy or tactic.
Vindicare assassins the guys known for never missing and waiting for their targets for months miss multiple time and grow impedientes.
Callidus assassins, good enough in melee can fool genestealer cults and eldar (guys that can read minds) some how mess up with the Tau because it smell off and fail to kill a tau in melee within a enclosed space and in melee.
Eversor also fail in melee but at least manage to kill something in melee.
For some reason the culexus assasins the anti psyker one manage to walk into a tau transport sit inside because Tau never take of their helmets and the culexus power make them invisible to tau tech for some reason. Then killed the tau pope.
Space marine also lost in melee to the Tau too
There is some kind of stupidity field around the Tau that make their enemies retarded when facing them. Because is not your regular plot armor, but characters and regular known things go out of their way to act the stupidest way possible when facing tau.

Its like saying Darkseid, Brainiac, Lex Luthor, and Joker ganging up to kill Superman... and Joker succeeds by spraying Superman with an acid spray. Not kryptonite acid, regular acid. No explaination, no surprises. Just like that.

Nothing about the poem or the content within the poem has anything to do with how the Dark Angels operate or their darkest secret. At best, it's all a surface level observation with similar names and nothing else. Nothing the Lion did or has done is about fighting his sexual urges nor does he have his own personal "dark angel" to indulge in his personal degeneracy. The Dark Angels and Lion El'Johnsson are based on the poet and the guy's poem from the middle-age. The poet was gay and the whole "dark secret" inhis poem, most likely, is about his catholic upbringing and it clashing with his own sexuality.
However in 40k the "dark secret" is not about the Dark Angel's being secretly gay, the secret is their history with the Fallen.
But the creators like Priestley, Jes, etc. did 100% intend for the gay jokes, the original creators were massive history nerds, they would know about the poem and how it relates to the guy who made it.

Listbuilding has been simplified to the point that weapon options are either used or the unit isn't used. The granularity of making a squad and balancing points out is replaced with taking in and out full groups of dudes just to try and compensate for the points inevitably left unspent. The gameplay itself is a boring slog where you are gambling for 6's to have any consistent lethality, and the fun of crafting your perfectly fluffy army doesn't matter anymore because it's all about competitive play.

Yes?
You think bunch of retard cultists will do anything to 5 space marines who have superior, equipment, weapons and SKILL?
The last part where the daemon kills 4 of them is very appropriate for 40k because that is how powerful daemons are.
The only reason why Titus survives is because
1. he is the protagonist
2. he is, according to the very fluff, built fucking different (a thing that was blatantly set up all the way back in SM1 14 YEARS AGO)

SM2 is not thay grimdark because it follows a space marine. Darktide has all the grimy grimdark of the foot soldiers with servitors glitching out and begging for death, or just crappy hive life.
Rogue Trader has the whole "wasteful bureucracy" grimdark done well, especially with genestealer dlc where you explore a ship's underbelly.

Wby the fuck are we nitpicking a game centered around space marines not being grimdark enough?
That's like watching a SEALS or Delta team going on a mission in an active warzone and complaining its not grimdark because we dont see corrupt politicians killing hookers or fentanyl hobos roaming the streets riddled with crime.

It's a little vague. Obviously the situation is really bad, but it's not clear how bad. The PCs aren't told much more than "this is where you're going and this is who you're killing." What's going on beyond those narrow parameters is mostly unexplored, but sporadically small hints will drop and suggest you are only dealing with one of many concurrent catastrophes. Whether you are fighting alone or in concert with a larger force, whether your efforts are futile or making progress towards winning the war, whether your boss is even a real person, and why the war is happening at all, are all questions left more or less unanswered.

>>95878871
Its way better that they don't represent subfactions. The fact that they don't means it is far more flexible for storytelling, your dudes or showing different subfactions within a subfaction. People already complain that people play their ultramarines using a Dark Angel detachment or Blood Angels detachment or something. if we had more stuff like that for the factions with 5 detachments you just get the situation of feeling gimped if you didnt randomly like the lore of the good faction right now.

Like in sisters, with Bloody Rose being really strong and feeling penalized if you weren't playing as them. Now you can play Sacred Rose for example as any of the detachments, and represent different battle formations or story driven armies within that faction that you like. Anon, it is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries The Emperor has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the Master of Mankind by the will of the gods, and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. He is the Carrion Lord of the Imperium for whom a thousand souls are sacrificed every day, so that he may never truly die.

Yet even in his deathless state, the Emperor continues his eternal vigilance. Mighty battlefleets cross the daemon-infested miasma of the Warp, the only route between distant stars, their way lit by the Astronomican, the psychic manifestation of the Emperor's will. Vast armies give battle in his name on uncounted worlds. Greatest amongst his soldiers are the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Marines, bio-engineered super-warriors. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Imperial Guard and countless planetary defence forces, the ever vigilant Inquisition and the tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from aliens, heretics, mutants - and worse.

To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim darkness of the far future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

>They dropped all of the nerfs against my army's codex towards the end of the edition and it was by far the worst army in the game
It is pretty funny how they removed every single codex nerf and they still ended up the worst faction in the game at the end of Arks of Omen.
But the thing is AdMech got destroyed by the core rules changes more than anything else. Their codex was written back when you got all your CP up front and could allocate it into massive upgrades and alpha strikes. That never got reverted. Even giving AdMech all their power back they just couldn't function without a lot more CP than they actually got in a drip fees over the game at that point.

As badly written as this is, GW would actually write a story like this if it involves Eldar.
>eldar have prophecy about muhreens destroying one of the few remaining craftworlds

So going to do a crusade starting at 600 points. I haven’t used my Tyranids in aeons so the thought is this:
One especially large trygon prime(pic rel) and some friends digging around under Armageddon eating biomass and generally causing a ruckus, vanishing quickly back under. Due to the rampant chaos happening all over the planet, this subterranean force has dwindled until only the biggest and cunning ones are left.

So the gimmick is this: packing a carnifex gang. Sucking them up to reserves t1 for 1cp, t2 they bust out along with the trygon, but “6” away . Everyone gets reroll to charge for 1cp.

Of course I haven’t read the Armageddon crusade book yet, only the review by g**nh*mmer , how many of the scenarios block deepstriking/reserves outright?

Anyway so here’s the goofy list: 600 points starting. Subterranean assault detach.
Warlord: Trygon Prime- -prime enhancement.
alpha strain carnifex (Old one eye)
2 carnifex with deathspitters, ones got crushing claws the other has Talons.

A biovore.

Just built my first batch of flayed ones.

The legs suck, but I think all the rest of the stuff people have problems with comes down to two things.

1. The instructions suck. They are easier to build in a different order than what GW shows and the legs and torso should be glued and then glued to a base first. After that, the rest is easy.

2. People use bad glue that doesn't hold well.

Better glue fixes most of the issues.
