Question from the uninformed. I was gifted an Ultramarine figure from a friend for my birthday. He has his units emblem on one side of his pauldrons, and an omega on the other. I have never been into 40k, my buddy got it for me because he knew I read the Malus series. I would obviously never sell it because it looks awesome and was a gift, but I was considering repainting it to have an omega on each side because I really like the idea of it being a hyper generic rank and file soldier and symmetry kind of goes with that idea for me. I checked google images of painted minis to see if this was haram, and most minis had the rank on one side but some had omegas on both. Do any marines have them on both in lore or is this just an up to the painter kind of deal?

Google tells me what and who the rank belongs to and they are pretty cool, but I still want to get the loser nobody vibe with him. With the deep lore of 40k, for all I know, two omegas could mean a gay abandoner of the emperor.

Mt last game was in 9th edition and I think it was my sisters against ravenguard? Got btfo by Eldar as Tyranids. Fire Dragons jumped out of their transport T1, and bikes flew up the board and almost killed 1200 points in the shooting phase. Eldar player was annoyed that his alpha strike left all my monsters at 4ish wounds, but by the bottom of T3 I only had like a 1 wound biovore and 6 gargoyles so I just packed up.

What do I do if I hate the heads on rubrics

The sisters need another tank with massive melta, flamer or bolter, and the front and side bolters can be changed for additional flamers or meltas. Like a mobile holy trinity pillbox.
Also a shrine on the back with an Order Madriga sister singing a dirge. The Castigator is far too utilitarian for the sisters, like they just stole a predator and quickly slapped some paint over it before the Marines knocked on their door asking if they'd seen any Blood Ravens around recently.

Very slow progress but progress.
It's pretty hard to clean the mould lines from very small chains.

The Predator is one of the most advanced battle tanks available to the Imperium, which is why Space Marines get it. This is, of course, before primarisization. But the Predator isn't so much a hand me down as an expression of the power and influence of the Ecclesiarchy to equip their forces with absolute top of the equipment. Maybe a variant datasheet usin g the same chassis as a base with sponsons could be a nice add (also allowing you to do a 6 tank armored division style). The actual castigator kit is fantastic, and well complemented by Exorcists and Immolator. Sisters have a great vehicle wing that covers pretty much all fantasies except ultraheavy durable.

And sisters SHOULDN'T have ultra heavy durable anything because their entire army is built around trading and taking casualties and miracles. Theoretically, there should be nothing stopping a sisters crusade from fielding Baneblades because the church has the money so if you want to do that just write a homebrew detachment that allows you to take a selection of other Imperial vehicles. For sisters proper, it doesn't match their rules or aesthetic at all.

Has anybody seen Imperial Agents armies, the Rogue Trader detachment in particular, in action? I'm curious if with some kitbashing (or straight up proxing heresy solar auxilia) you could make it into a fun or at least functioning army at anything above minimal point limit.

I like the basic rogue trader and navy infantry and could squeeze in a deathwatch marine squad as some marines on lease from their chapter, but they really lack proper tanks and long range firepower.

Rogue Trader is the only detachment in the Codex that functions. It's actually a VERY strong detachment, its just weighed down by the limited options the army has for datasheets and not having an Army Rule.

That said, Breachers led by Rogue Entourage are very durable and point efficient units that take a surprising amount of punishment. Subducters and Deathwatch Veterans are also both very strong infantry units. The real issue is you have no vehicles, though with how powerful allied Knights are right now you both 3 armigers or 1 Canis Rex are great options.

For the few people bringing Navis to tournaments they tend to do better than the average 40k player, it's just a tiny amount of people trying. The few tournament winning Agents lists are basically an absolutely fucking insane amount of durable infantry that just score points without killing anything. You just have so many raw units you literally can't lose the game against some armies.

The Castigator's forward and side guns can only be heavy bolters, and the main gun isn't part of the holy trinity of bolter, melta and flamer.
It also has to issue of not looking like it belongs.
The Immolator has massive stained-glass windows, the Exorcist is a full pipe organ. Cassy is just a repainted predator. No shrine, or pulpit, or sarcophagus. There could have been a large triptych of the Emperor or the six founding saints of the sororitas mounted around the back of the turret at the very least.

That's what I want. A vulcan megabolter, or an infernal cannon, or whatever the super-melta is called, with a heavy flamer, heavy bolter, or multimelta forward and sponson guns to match.
And a shrine or something similar on the top.
Not a Baneblade, not a Predator in a fresh coat of paint, just a Rhino-chassis tank that actually looks like it was a Sisters specific tank.

If you read my post I addressed that. If you want tough tanks play marines, votann or guard. Sisters are about fast and fragile zealots. We trade toughness for Invuln saves. Nothing in the army is tanky, the entire army is low toughness for the role.

Pretty much just the shield guy and the medic. You see, the Rogue Trader entourage guys all have invuln saves, so you just use them as abalative wounds for the whole unit. Only the Rogue Trader is a character so you can assign wounds directly to the entourage even though they are merged with the Breachers. Then the medic brings them back. It lets you selectively choose where to assign wounds which is very powerful. And they are very high OC as well.

My local sometimes holds a mini tournament for 1 character, 2 battleline forces. 4 turns, one centre objective. It's short, fun and massively unbalanced.
Played 4 games with a Knight Centura and 2x 10 Prosecutors.
Won my first vs Necrons, tabled them on my 3rd turn due to lucky rolls.
Second was a tie vs Marines, neither of us took the objective or managed to wipe out enough of the other force. Lost third to another lot of Marines as they took the objective.

It's a bit of a mix of things. Right now DG is undercosted and there are probably some datasheets that need some straight up nerfing because they're just too much, on top of having stupidly good synergies that usually would be curtailed on other armies. The most flagrant things are:

- Lord of Contagion + Deathshrouds: 6'' deep strike against infected targets means almost guaranteed to connect, add Lance + Sustained hits 1 + Lethal hits on the charge and they can basically punk a Knight in one round of combat
- Heavy Blight Launcher Drones: T9 3+/5++ 10'' flying gun platform with D6+2 hits S10 AP-2 D3 blast + lethal hits. A Lord of Virulence can tag a target they see and every gun with Blast now has full hit-rerolls. This costs 100 points, I genuinely think this is in the running for single best unit in the game right now.
- 10 shooty plague marines + malignant plaguecaster + putrifier: 5+ critical hits, sustained hits, lethal hits, full hit AND wound re-rolls for 1CP, this unit can legit split fire and massacre two units with ease. It's not even a pushover in melee.

Also marines being T6 means most anti-marine weapons (S5 or S6 AP-2 D2) are now wounding them harder than regular marines. Terminators go up to T7 which means they require anti-light vehicle stuff.

It's a well written codex mechanics wise it's just too cheap and some of the stronger combos need to be reigned in. I also am not sure Deathshroud 6'' deep strike should be a thing, honestly.

Had a game vs Blood Angels in our 5th crusade game. My objective was to destroy the 4 points on the table as an action, so infiltrating Genestealers did the first one at turn one. I sent 10 neophytes, 5 acolytes and put more Genestealers unto the next one. Baal Predator couldn't kill all of them so with the neophytes I destroyed the 2nd one. For the 3rd one I sent 20 neophytes, 10 metamorphs, a Goliath Truck and some genestealers around as a distraction. Metamorphs got there and destroyed the 3rd objective, winning me the game. In the end all of my units except for a single Flamer acolytes died and I killed only one enemy unit, but it did not matter.

AK texture pastes: Desert Sand and Sandy Desert applied randomly over the base with some pieces of cork to imitate rocks. Basecoat cork with grey of your choice. Not really. In 40k/AoS (since it's the same War) the emotions of mortal soul bearing species give form to entities within the Warp which are very real. And these said entities are the Chaos Gods. Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle and Slaanesh.
Daemons can be "killed", ie. banished when they after they enter real space, but eventually they will just "reform" within the Warp. So you, technically, can never truely kill a daemon. Except for 1 thing.
All daemons that exist are just shards of their respective gods, but they are still, kind of, independent beings, if that makes any sense.

It's one of the said reasons why the gods are afraid of the Emperor and call him the Anathema.
It is because he is one of the few person, if not the only person in existance who can just can straight up erase daemons from existance meaning they will never return. Just straight up gone.
And since daemons are just shards of their respective gods, if you erase enough of the shards, eventually the god itself will dissipate from the Warp.

I would like tacticals and devestator squads as an option. I enjoyed having thr flexibility, though with the weapon profiles (unless they pull back a little like they should) they'll probably be somewhat hefty point-wise.
