Konbini are turning to shit now. Increasingly jeeted staff, around a third I would guess have their bins removed/shit stacked in front of them/out of service signs taped on them. ALL the seating konbini are gone too, have to eat my food outside and they stare at me like I just shat in the street, what the fuck do you expect from me yellow cunt. The government seems to have been systematically removing the already next to zero public benches and shit too, the few there are, are always occupied by ojisan and his can of strong zero. Man, Japan going down the shitter epic style. They could at least reassign the make work guardian ojisans with their lightsabers to picking up trash or doing literally anything useful.

I don't know how much time you've spent in the country and where you went, and I understand the gripe about revisiting the same places over and over again, however, unless you are an ultra weeb and you think walking in the middle of the rice fields in Iwate is "new or non-touristy", then you're not really missing out on anything once you've already been to most of what makes this country unique.

Seriously, the garbage can situation in Japan is completely fucked up when everything comes in a zillion layers of packaging. I purchased a Camembert wheel the other day. Outside box of plastic cardboard, cheese wheel inside is contained in a rigid plastic packaging with removable soft plastic lid, cheese wheel inside THAT is also contained within a soft plastic wrapping. Foreigners are not to blame, when I cycle down a rural road with trash dumped all down the side for dozens of kilometres or a beach loaded with plastic garbage it’s pretty fucking obvious it’s not foreigners.

I don't have a problem with going to the same cities again. I've been through all of Tokyo for weeks, explored all of Osaka on foot. I would happily go there again, I know I won't be bored. The downer is that outside of those places I've only had day trips to nearby cities and towns without much time to explore (for example I haven't been any further west/south than Himeji), and I won't have a chance to do that in this trip.

They're all places I've been to, I think if you zoom out that's just what happens depending on the color of the actual icon itself.
To answer a generic question, I can only provide a generic answer. Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto. They're popular for a reason and they're all very accessible both logistically and in the sense of being a foreigner who can't speak the language.
Obviously things can be more detailed if you provided a more detailed question. For example if you're a weeb and into Evangelion then there's Hakone, that tank shit is in Ibaraki, and so on.
Personally, I am a big pervert so the top of my list includes places where exhibitionists are common, starting from tame mixed onsens where coverings/towels are not allowed all the way to infamous public toilets where you might find a woman tied up and blindfolded spread eagle.
Beyond that, I like the outdoors.

As you can see, a lot of the things I mentioned are all popular or well known. I come back to the point I made earlier where certain places are popular because they're really just that good. If you only have a limited amount of time, there's absolutely nothing wrong with sticking to the popular and well known places.
Finally, Japan is an open book. There's no secret epic spot for locals only, and if there were any, information will be kept hidden. I personally wouldn't name drop my home ski resort because there's barely anyone there and I have a season pass, the last thing I want is more people chopping up the snow.

Yes that's correct. I can give more info....but I don't know what else to mention. I do have a resevered bus from Kawaguchiko station to Shinjuku, but I can obviously cancel that.

So far i have shibuya 6th-11th booked, then kyoto 11th-14th, and osaka 14th-17th. I had gone back and forth on staying in Kobe but i think at this point i would just go there for a day or half day while in osaka. I was pretty much. Should i go back to Tokyo for the remaining nights and stay somewhere quiet? I had been considering staying in akasaka but thats pretty close to where im staying at the start so thinking maybe Ueno (for the easy access back to Narita) or Asakusa. There's an APA hotel thats across the street from the skyliner station which would be nice. Or something else in that area, any other suggestions would be good. Leaving flight on the 20th isnt until a bit after 4pm but assume i need to get to narita like 3 hours early and its more or less 1+ hour from tokyo so dont have much time to do anything that day. I had been planning on getting another checked suitcase near the end of my trip and trying to do buying of stuff in those last few days but i'm not sure if that will actually work out, may end up needing to buy that early on.

It took me about 2 days to figure out the best way to deal with trash was to walk into a konbini and ask "すみません、ゴミ箱がありますか?" I think most store clerks would smile and take your garbage, it makes it clear you don't want to litter. They literally walk out into the street and pick up trash if it gets dropped anywhere near their store.

To reach Mt. Takao by train, take the Keio Line express bound for Takaoyamaguchi from Shinjuku, and you will arrive at Takaoyamaguchi Station in 50 minutes without changing trains. In front of the station are the entrances to the mountain trails, the ropeway, and the cable car station.

Many people insist on going to Hakone, Kawaguchiko, or Nikko on a day trip from Tokyo, but these are places where Japanese people make several day trips.
From Tokyo, If you were to take a day trip away, Kamakura, Mt. Takao, or Chichibu would be appropriate. Or you could take the Sobu Rapid Line to Chiba and ride the Chiba Urban Monorail, which functions as a public transportation system.
There are zoos and parks along the monorail line, and if you transfer to the Keiyo Line to Kaihin-Makuhari, you will find many commercial and amusement facilities.

My first ever Japan trip is drawing to a close. I am charmed by an endlessly fascinating country, that manages to maintain a first world level of service while yet still being exotic and culturally rich.
Japanese women are the cutest of all the Asian countries and I don't regret nutting in a jap girl's mouth so she could keep some White cum as a memento.

Kyoto is great, however we have had to repeatedly step into restaurants, see the brown-skinned waiters and owners, and step out to avoid establishments NOT run by jeets. On Monday once, on Tuesday twice. Every time we are glad to have done this as we end up at authentic local Japanese-run restaurants with good food and service and affordable prices
also I feel like it isn't talked about enough how pretty this city is at night - the Japanese time zone gives you sunsets at 5 or 6pm but the night lights make up for it in the Gion district of Kyoto at least

This is a serious question. Where I'm from, and in other countries I've been in, phone calls and text messages (also known as SMS) are tied to your phone number.
In Japan, it appears that they have a separate system for texting. So they still need a phone number to make calls, but then they have an email address for texting.

Is that actually accurate? Moreover, Japanese seem to refer to texting as "mailing" instead, which makes sense if that's the case.

With the advent of smartphones, I realize my question may sound extra confusing, as most contemporary phones can now do both texting AND emailing, but to me it looks like Japan has been emailing before smartphones even existed.
For the record, I am not at all talking about third-party apps that do voice calls and texting (such as LINE, WhatsApp, etc.).

Nah they're great, I've stayed in 3 APA hotels and they were good. The rooms are small but convenient, everything works well, and the staff are particularly polite and helpful.
