These are complaints I have heard from indians before, because I work with them and we compare notes. They read some trip reports and watched some sex tourism videos on PH and thought it applied to them.

Since Filipino street food is notoriously bad, and you might get tired of eating Jollibee, I'll share a Filipino/Spanish recipe that's delicious, nutritious, is appealing to people with multiple taste palates, and can be prepared even in a small condo with only a 1 burner stove

Ingredients:

1. 1 clove of garlic
2. A few small red onions
3. 1/2 kilo of potatoes
4. 1/2 kilo of carrots
5. 1 packet of prepackaged Afritada/menudo powder (can also use tomato sauce)
6. Small dash of cooking oil of your choice
7. 1/2 kilo of chicken
8. Salt/pepper/garlic powder
9. Red bell pepper

Step 1: Prep all your veggies. Peel and dice potatoes and carrots. Mince the garlic clove a

, bell pepper, and red onions. Wash chicken and marinate with salt/pepper/granulated garlic (or seasoning of your choice)

Step 2. Bring a few cups of water to a boil. Boil chicken for 15 minutes or so, until you see the excess fat pooling in the water.

3. Remove chicken from pot and discard water

4. Heat a small amount of cooking oil in pan. When hot, add minced garlic bell pepper, and red onions.

5. Once garlic and onions are starting to brown, add back your chicken.

6. Let fry for 5-10 minutes, mixing thoroughly

7. Add water just enough to cover the chicken

8. Once water is boiling, add the afritada powder. Mix thoroughly

9. Add potatoes and carrots.

10. Let it boil for 30-45 minutes or so, stirring frequently. You may need to add more water as it reduces. You may need to add additional seasonings to your taste.

11. Serve over white rice

I, however, am a rational normal 39 year old guy who has been traveling and living around SEA for the past 10 years, and spent probably 5 of that in Philippines, 3 in thailand, and the other 2 fucking around in cambodia/vietnam/taiwan/malaysia.

If it's your first time in the region then start with thailand bangkok and if you are a coomer branch out to pattaya.

After you've had your fill of thailand then head over to philippines and check out Manila (makati for a few nights, ermita/malate for a few nights), then head down to Cebu and check that out for a week. Go out on some dates, buy some cute girls some food and drinks, enjoy chatting to people in english for a change and get a vibe for the country and the people.

PH is much less training wheels than thailand and way more gritty especially in parts of Manila. Some guys love that shit, some hate it, some insane retards like the fuckwit you were talking to get driven even more mad by it. However, you've got to see it and experience it for yourself, because if you're the type of guy who latches onto PH you don't want to miss out.

The draw of this country is the relative level of freedom and 'wild west' feeling compared to other asian police state shitholes, while still being more accessible due to everyone speaking english, which means you can finesse your way into and out of all sorts of situations much more easily than say, in cambodia where you need a fixer/handler.

In PH you can experience a level of freedom and self determination you just cant get in the west. You're really on your own, and some men thrive in that environment. Some guys hate it. It's worth finding out what you like, and if the type of grit available is what you are into.

tl;dr go where you want, SEA is wonderful and a great place to be white, but if its your first time make PH last stop so you can accurately compare it to everything else. Don't ever go to PH first or you might experience culture shock.

- Do make use of facebook heavily, its the primary app of PH. Whatsapp is also very popular. Get used to manipulating restrict/block with both apps. Put whiny pinays on timeout till you feel like talking to them again. They will waste your time ruthlessly, due to having nothing better to do, otherwise.

- Dating apps are pretty shitty here. Too many trannies anglefrauding or using fake pictures of women, who will show up and try to trick you (they look like shit so it never works). 1C. Theirs tons of places to drink and get debaucherous I'm Cebu. I was walking along Colon at with my daughter, and I saw someone, who at first I assumed was a beggar sitting by himself along the sidewalk.

I thought it might of been a badjao, because he had on jeans, a sweater, a surgical mask, and a hood. He was very small, I thought it could've been a midget

As I got closer, I glanced at him, and he lifted his head to look at me.

What was staring at me was A child, no older than 13 years old, the skin completely burned off his face, red, blistered, and peeling. It was a fresh wound, and It was an absolutely gruesome site, so much so I audibly yelled "HOLY SHIT"

Planning a week in the Philippines as part of a longer trip.
Right now I'm considering 3 nights in Manila and 4 nights at a beach island.
For Manila, I was thinking of staying in Poblacion, enjoy some nightlife before relaxing at the beach.
Am I wasting my time on this, I've heard mixed things about Manila but I'd like to see a little bit of the urban culture in addition to some beach time.
