Why do you think that? I love Undertale and I love Deltarune but I have complaints. Chapter 3 is bogged down by really long unskipable moments that makes it unfun to replay. There's no difference between violence and non violent interactions for Lanino and Elnina and you can't defeat them during their battle because they're so ridiculously beefy. That's a little lazy. I thought the Susie flashback was kind of lazy story telling too. It's just a black background with narration. I have a few other minor complaints but overall I like the game. If it weren't for the weird route however at least 60% of my interest would be gone.

I have my complaints like the dark worlds feeling not as well fleshed out as Cyberworld or even Card Kingdom, and it's worse with 4 because it doesn't even try to have a subplot beyond "stop the Knight". And I really can't stand Suselle and how it eats up a lot of Noelle's character in chapter 4. But I wouldn't say chapters 3 and 4 sucked. Chapter 3 is on par with 1 and 4 is only beat by 2.

I actually kind of agree with Gerson's relationship with Susie feeling kind of weird. Susie has tuned down her being a bit of an asshole to other characters, but for some reason she just goes back to how she was before with her being a massive asshole to this old guy who (she thought) was just some poor old dude stuck in a dark world due to being at the wrong place at the wrong time, who is actually really nice to her. I agree with the TV World, but the Church world was plenty well explored from the Prophecy, to Gerson, and to how the Dark Worlds vary based on who creates the fountain. There's even lore that the front of the church wasn't even created by The Knight, it was formed because of spillover from the main fountain, which is why the fountain in front of the church is much smaller at first.

Visually though Dark Worlds really lack the feeling of being a whole other place. Cyber World had backgrounds, fireworks, common citizens, people talking about Queen and how she ruled. TV World doesn't have a place that feels like Queen's Mansion, and I blame the fact it's all primarily hallways and darkness surrounding it.

I don't think Kris wanted Toriel kidnapped, he wouldn't have went and slashed his mom's tires to lure Undyne here otherwise (assuming still that he did that). And she might be an alcoholic and clueless or w/e but Kris still loves Toriel. The ink and quill men were cool too, and their quest to attain the love of Ms Mizzle is a fun little subplot. The fact the regular Mizzles are there singing the main theme of the first Sanctuary is clearly just there to add to the mystique of the place. Everyone also comes back at the end if you recruited them all to help you climb and defeat the Knight. The Church might not have as rich a history as Cyber World, but it's still there and isn't trying to overshadow the plot of you trying to get to The Knight and letting Susie's charscter grow from Gerson.

I feel like chapter 3 should have leaned more into the TV show aesthetic more like have the protagonists play a role in show or be contestants in a live action gameshow instead of playing the Zelda game over and over. You could still try to fit in the funny antics of Susie and Ralsei dicking around in the game with the characters going off script. And I don't think having Tenna modify the mantle game really matters that much in the story unless something more is revealed later on. And you can still have the secret Mantle sidequest on the side. I don't think you need to have Tenna guide your hand playing the modified Mantle game is necessary to teach people to play the Mantle game.
