The clip starts with a UT kill and later on you can see essence near that body which in itself is already odd when there are cases of enemies not dropping any on OTs (7:00, 3:48) and even "normal" kills (3:58). So UT hits build both meters and the kills drop essence that either heals or allows for more UTs, what the fuck. But at least they don't seem to delimb much and mostly just deal damage so the potential spam might be slightly alleviated by stronger enemies and higher difficulty modes, after all this is just normal footage.
I am also concerned about OTs being weaved into combo strings, what a moronic way to castrate the moveset.

The two starting ninja variants in NGB could literally be turtled all day long because they had no guardbreaks nor grabs, same with the brown imps. Imagine there's a racing game series you like that is more on the sim side of things. It's been dormant for over a decade a new entry gets announced but instead of a hardcore sim, they shove cartoony karts in your face and the game now plays like a kart racer but they say "don't worry, the old fans will feel familiar in our sim mode" and the sim mode is 4 tracks with 3 cars and it plays like need for speed rather than a gran turismo. If you're a fan of this series, how could you be happy with that? Then what's next, the game gets popular and the next entry just further leans into the kart racer, this time it doesn't even pretend to care about the original sim mode. This is not the same series anymore.

This is exactly what they're doing with NG4. It's skinwalking as ninja gaiden but it's liteally just a fully original platinum game. I like NG, I like DMC, I like Bayonetta, etc, etc but I like all of those games for DIFFERENT REASONS. I'm convinced the main thing keeping people from thinking the game the game 'looks' like the prior entries is the camera. If the camera was wedged between Yakumo's ass cheeks like the last 3 games it would get be much more positively received.

Anyone else disappointed with Ragebound? I feel it would be a way more enjoyable game if it didn't had that "kill the enemy with the right type of move to be able to 1 hit-kill a big enemy". Enemy placement also feels kinda samey with lots of encounters that feel identical.
Also dodge button, it feels out of place in a 2d game with movement fluid enough to get you out of the way of most attacks. Not that big of a deal but still, feels like following a trend mindlessly

both of these are only unlocked on hard mode. this is a pro to NGB not a con. They still fit in visually with the rest of the game. them being more visually interesting is more like a reward for playing it on a harder mode.

these are well designed enemies. they arent overly detailed or covered with pointless geometry for the sake of looking complicated. the cat fiends or probably one of the weirdest enemies of NGB- yet look subdued compared to much of ng2 or ng3.

the cybernetic guards are only on hard mode, many players will never encounter them. they replace the basic swat guys. just like how on harder modes- the ninjas get more complex as well. vigoorian ninja is a good example. this is a good looking enemy and much cooler than the humans you fight in ninja gaiden 3 who repeat the word fuck over and over. these guys dont say anything. just have a filter put over their attack and death sounds. just business.

This is my theory and you can take this or leave it. Ninja gaiden has a fairly grounded story in terms of it taking place in modern times, but the world having remnants of older culture here and there. (hayabusa village/ninja enemies/ samurai army etc) the demon world somehow opening up and connecting with the modern world is not that outlandish in terms of story telling, this is common in fact. so you can still have the ninjas/samurai/ swat/military enemies in the same game as a lot of the demons and monsters without it being that retarded.

its when you up it past a certain degree that the tone becomes so comical that people have an issue with it, and this is going to differ on a person by person basis. but the cybernetic monstrosities you end up fighting start tipping the scale to the point that the game feels retarded because now you have enemies you would expect from quake4. ninja gaiden 3 makes you fight a trex at some point. i cant remember if that was a cyrbog also or what but there is just a point where there is too damn much in the game.
