I have a new schizo theory (well, more an expansion of a more normal theory into schizo territory).

Many assume that The Vessel was meant to be the original "Hero 1, The Cage with Human Soul and Parts".
And that Noelle was supposed to be the original "Hero 2, The Girl with Hope Crossed in her Heart."
But what if we keep going?
"Hero 3, The Prince, Alone in Deepest Dark" could also have been replaced. Ralsei doesn't fit in with The Vessel and Noelle since he's so tied to Kris. But you know who would fit in and is "alone in deepest dark"? Dess. And she's a tomboy that could fit as a "female Prince" type like Revolutionary Girl Utena.
But if Dess is Hero 3, who is the Knight? "The Knight, which makes with blackened knife, shall duel the heroes strife by strife". Well, who is left who also takes the form of a knight in the Dark Worlds already, and has an affinity for knives? KRIS. Kris was the one that was supposed to fight Noelle and Dess on the adventure.
But then the conspiracy comes in. Somehow the roles have been shuffled and Susie and Ralsei added to remove Noelle and the Vessel from the prophecy.

Deltarune doesnt even have 20% of the amount of popularity Undertale had back in 2015-2017. Even if it was 2020-2021 and Toby released chapters 2-7 all in one go with the level of quality that chapters 3 and 4 have, it still wouldn't beat peak Undertale in terms of popularity. And the thing is, Deltarune is arguably the most popular "current" indie game alongside shit like Fnaf and Terraria both of whom while still popular, were far more popular back then.
