Chapter 3 grew on me

It got a friend in me indeed

Same. My heart fucking plummeted the first time Tenna showed up, basically thinking "Oh no, an entire chapter of this?" And zelda segments were really off-putting, especially how you weren't able to save at all during them.

But Tenna grew on me, ended up liking him way more than Mettaton. And the character switcheroo with the second Zelda segment along all the creepy Ramb stuff ended up making the Zelda segments work as well.

I found Tenna funny and endearing from the start and I had fun during the rounds.
The part that put me off was having to restart the entire chapter because I only got S on board 2, even though they told you not to worry about the ranks.
The mantle boss fight was far from my favorite, and the knight kicked my ass.

So what's the deal with knigt's x-slash? Its red, as are most of its sword attacks. Yet the attack that downs Susie and Ralsei is white. It could be Kris's x-slash, but his is blue. To add further to this, if you equip the black shard to Kris, his attacks become red.

I've kind of warmed up to Tenna over time but that still doesn't change the fact that ch3 is, in my opinion, the weakest chapter so far in the game. My main issue is that barely anything noteworthy happens. In ch1 we got introduced to the main cast. In ch2 we got berdly and noelle and learned about dess and the roaring. The fuck happens in chapter 3? It just feels like filler. The knight fight honestly woke me up just because it's the one moment in the entire part that's actually integral to the plot.

I would rank the chapters like this: ch2>ch4=ch1>ch3

The silly chapters are absolutely necessary to pace out the heavier ones. Notice that everyone memes about Tenna but almost no one talks about the Titan. Silly things are more memorable and meanigful when they feel like a respite from more serious things. Deltarune or Undertale for that matter absolutely wouldn't work if it didn't have this balance between humor and seriousness. If it was all humor or all serious then you'd adapt and grow numb to it.

I loved chapter 3, so much I still haven't started 4 cause I've been going for T-ranks and stuff and don't feel ready to say goodbye. Playing it the moment it released knowing next to nothing about it was almost like being a kid on Christmas morning. I think that while the game is bad, there is definitely something to be said about that ending after you spend so much time with those characters. It hit me like a truck aswell, nothing in undertale managed to get me that emotional. The final duet scene with all those implications and how you can see that the protagonist has to move on but he's barely, just barely holding on because of how much that event ruined his life is just so heartbreaking.

Noelle's not actually an "avid glitch hunter". When she played Dragon Blazers, it wasn't a glitch. She says you can't find your way through the maze without the wizard, but ch3 shows Noelle is literally the wizard.
Because Dragon Blazers is based on the prophecy, and Noelle is who the white robe character is, the game works "correctly" when Noelle is playing it, because her physical presence is equivalent to if the white robe was in her party.
The egg pet and FRIEND attack in cat petterz were darkners coming to her, likely because she is part of the prophecy, not her finding stuff by hunting.

Its probably dominated by my pc, since that's the most important object in the room. The PC is old (about 20 years) but I still use it as a daily driver. The rest of the room is filled with all sorts of other old tech junk like old consoles, a tube tv, old phones, a floppy disk camera, and a few things from my childhood.

Probably a mashup of the cyber world and what people thought the Kris's house dark world would look like. The PC I see as being male, and a lot less goofy than Queen, probably closer to Tenna since he's such an old thing. So a big CRT headed robot guy who looks imposing, but is getting on in age and has a persistent cough. Would've kicked your ass handily 20 years ago, but now would be a much fairer (if not outright easy) fight. If it reflects my will, the darkners are all probably desperately clinging on to their old roles and fighting to stave off the unstoppable march of time. It is a huge narrative flaw because it doesnt account for the player's enjoyment of the dream world.
