the game feels like a confused mishmash of several different antigrav/kart games and while it's mostly fun and has robot girls in it, i find the actual driving physics to be kind of lacking, namely that there is no such thing as momentum and even slightly missing a trick or tapping a wall will immediately delete several hundred km/h instantly which not only makes no physical sense but it's just not fun for a game where you spend 99% of the lap drifting madly and hammering the boost button like it's a fighting game. the tracks are extremely wide and the racing could be even faster, but as it is i got bored quickly.

I think the game is simply in too early of a state to have ALL of the mechanics and physics nailed down. I can both be hopeful that it galvanizes into a more satisfying racing game while being critical of its shortcomings in a constructive manner like you have.

A kinetic game should have physics to match. Suddenly losing all speed because of a minor brush with world geometry is a damn important thing to iron out because most players aren't going to have perfect lines that never interact with the walls of your courses.

motorstorm did this and was really fun because you could use it at a hail mary to explode over the finish line and overtake opponents at the last second

also turboblast has f-zero style explosive mines that also just slow you down, whereas in gx they were both hazards and boons that were like uncontrolled boosting.

Aerogauge on the N64 as mentioned earlier is a hidden antigrav racer gem
NFS Heat and Unbound can also be pretty cool, they have real cars but drive like an F-Zero game. the music is not to everyone's taste but i really enjoy the arcadey futuristic racer feel of them. also you go FAST.
BallisticNG is a game on PC by the original Wipeout devs and has lots of configuration options and mods, but it's more like mario kart with its weapon and boost system. same goes for GRIP which is inspired by Psygnosis' other futuristic racer Rollcage but sadly lacks the destructible environments of its predecessors

it kinda feels to me like you maintain higher momentum by not letting the drift boost charge, and you can kind of tap turn with the drift boost in a way similar to the original f-zero where you could tap the accel in turns to maintain grip. letting the drift boost charge gives you a bigger boost sure, but the loss in momentum is ultimately not worth it and also causes you to drift outwards in a corner. more experimentation is necessary. there is definitely a tactical use case for both methods. i do appreciate how deep this is for an arcade racer even if it's not finished yet.

For image gen, I just use webui. I'm sure the stable diffusion threads on /g/ or /trash/ have a rentry guide. I think these days you just run a couple python/batch files and it downloads pretty much everything you need. They're pretty easy, but some of the models you have to download have large file sizes. I don't even use comfyUI for the weird node shit. The basic webUI is fine by me. That said, I've tried doing video gen and I can't figure it out. It uses a comfyUI node setup, and I have no idea how to keep the style of the picture consistent for the video. I think you can add Loras to the video gen, but again, I have no idea how it works.
