Rather than a horrific and shameful end, it seems to be leading up to something horrible happening to all the characters. With the way Ramb's game went and how Gerson and Spamton talked about the weird route. It feels like it's building up to an extrememly bitter and only slightly sweet ending. Probably an ending where you technically win, but with all the sacrifice raises the question if it was even worth it.
