Horses are kind of the most unfuckable animal girl.
Like that's a cute girl, but a horse's main, ears, and tail are not the first thing I think of when I see a horse, more like their long, ridable backs, and shape. I don't see a horse girl and see an immedieate connection to me riding her, which would be fun and sexual. Like it would be sweet if she offered me piggy back ride, but she doesn't have any extra body parts of muscles that would let her gallop while I ride on her back. Not like a Kangaroo girl or something where you could realistic put your face in her pouch you know?

i've been able to clear the URA finals with Taiki Shuttle and Winning Ticket. Taiki was definitely easier because she runs short races, and she has a dirt aptitude so after you clear her career you can use her on your PvP team. I honestly don't remember much about the winning ticket career but I do recall that she loves to get 3rd/2nd against her two rivals.
Vodka was one of my earliest careers and I took her to the finals and got 2nd. We beat Daiwa Scarlet so I was happy with that. I look back on that career fondly, but I don't remember what kinds of race distances she ran because I had no idea what I was doing at the time.
I haven't played a Tokai Teio career yet but I unlocked her recently. I'll get to it eventually...
Overall I'd say you should play Taiki Shuttle, it's easy and she's got big tits. (Winning Ticket has big tits too btw this is important)

You need 30 TP to start career mode. Career mode is how you train the girls. Don't worry about running out, the game showers you in TP regen items.

1 RP (blue bar) is for Team Battles (pseudo PVP) and you need 5 veteran girls (girls you've trained in Career) in a team before you can do that. You do start with 5 veterans but they suck.

Support cards buff you in Career mode, giving you stat buffs and new skills. Support cards are the main thing you'll be rolling for, as they are much more important than the girls themselves. The girls themselves are mainly the cherry on top.

Normally the higher scoring girls will have better skills/sparks but it can really depend on what you're trying to do, or how kind the RNG feels like being.

If your list starts clogging up with shitters you can Transfer (sell) them for some support currency.
Go to Enhance > Veteran Umamusume > List to be able to Transfer your girls.

Yes, there is a factor that a horse just won't want to. Goldship once threw a race that cost gamblers tens of millions of dollars because he didn't feel like running.
We don't put them down for getting uppity because it is inhumane to kill an animal like that. People involved know the risks that these are sensitive animals, moreso than dogs and cats, and violating their personal space and boundaries and failing to read their body language will end up in you getting hurt. Even if it is not in their personality, it is in their nature.

Yep, that's how it works.

As far as I know, yes.
I've no idea if they do anything else as more updates come in. But since they have a huge impact in career, they are incredibly important.

Yes and no.
The daily shop can randomly pop up after participating in any none career race (Daily Races, Team Trials, etc.), which will sell 1 star chip for two random girls (how you upgrade the girls themselves) and the same stock of support items.After you buy out this shop, you will need to trigger it again for it to re-stock.
Be aware that star chips are girl specific and leveling a girl from 1 star to 2 stars takes 50 star chips, and it only gets worse from there. There are other timed events which will give more though.
There is a shop on the home screen where you spend various currencies you can earn in-game, but these will be pretty grindy. These shops are always open.
