Threads ago i made the "schizobosses are the 5 stages of grief" theory and Ramb, while denied of a schizoboss fight, is the one who more or less guides us to the 3rd shadow crystal indirectly by providing us the means to that end (playing the true game and getting the shadow mantle, which would be the equivalent of fighting a schizoboss and getting an equip + shadow crystal).
Ramb is just depressed and is just going down with the sinking ship (depression being the lowest point of the stages of grief) and would rather get others up before himself.

As for the other stages of grief, its simple

I think the normal route fight was more impactful than weird route.
Something about the entire gang seeing this schizofuckass talk crazy, then after working our way to sever his strings thinking we can free and recruit the guy, only for the guy to tumble and crash down as a puppet whose strings are cut, just a ragdoll on the floor.
