Frost mage is LITERALLY built around Crowd Control, though. That is its entire gimmick and the entire reason you bring it. They have AoE slows and binds (which work on the mobs the party was fighting). The Rogue gouging one nigger or building up to a Kidney Shot would do literally nothing when the entire party is being mobbed down by a dozen of dudes. Meanwhile, a Frost Mage using a single Frost Nova would have ended the problem instantly.

I will say after having it swished in my mouth for a while, every aspect is fucked beyond belief but I just realized by not having an RPG system in the game, it even fucks up the themes.
One of the bosses is a judgement and a check on your previous choices, but the game doesn't give you much incentive to make some of these choices at all. An example is stealing an apple. Now, if the game had RPG elements, the apple could've been a massive healing item that the player would realistically want, but that would mean stealing from the character that owns it. Something like this could make a thematic point. As is, the only reason you would steal the apple is that you wanted to be a dick and your evil voice told you so.

The issue isn't compilation, the issue is this bass-ackwards means of coding the game is about a good half the reason this development is taking ten goddamn years. Every time he needs to adjust dialogue he has to dig through an array half the length of the Old Testament just to change code and then re-compile instead of having it all load through a .csv like literally every other RPG (Including low-to-no-budget Gamemaker ones).

It is literally not in a separate file. All dialogue is hard-coded into a giant array in the source code. Like I said, if he just kept it in a .csv no one would care. Shit even a repository of .txt files would be less cursed.

Here's another fun fact: A good chunk of these lines of dialogue (each piece of dialogue, no matter how minute, gets its own line in the array) are just "..." and nothing else. His latest update from literally today added 152 lines of dialogue, 19 of which were just "..." and nothing else. Over 10% of the dialogue in the latest update is just ellipses of no meaning. You could probably truncate the entire dialogue section of the array by easily 15% if you just replaced all of those "..."s with a prompt that makes it so a sprite of a little cartoon word bubble appears of their head that shows ellipses instead. It would have the same effect.
