The Labs stuff seemed pretty good. Maps seemed more urban oriented which is better, modes like Conquest suck on open maps where people just approach from anywhere or there's no sense of linearity or progression through the map. Unfortunate that we'll have character customization, fake gun names and boring factions but that's just the age we live in I guess, I hope they keep the aesthetic down to Earth at least. That alone would be a huge favour point over CoD which is completely shameless in their monetization

It's an AAA game with a billion people working on it, so making an extra set of player models would be very simple. Classes with clear cut roles and abilities. Set weapons give them set advantages and disadvantages. Gadgets must useful and effective but not silly. No OP shit like calling airstrikes. Needs lots of variety in gadgets to allow lots of playstyles
War aesthetic where its grunt team A verse grunt team B, no heroes or unique individuals. Sound and visuals should really feel like your in a chaotic battle, game needs to take itself seriously to try to give off that vibe.
Destruction mainly so the previous point can be made clear. Maps should be ruined through play and reflect the carnage of the game as well as allow different strategies.
Vehicles need to feel powerful but not be so OP that they can carry entire matches. They should have very strong advantages and disadvantages, but still be apart of the overall battle and not just fuck off to the sky or miles away getting easy kills.
Permanent persistent lobbies encourage people to stick around and allows for a much better experience instead of the constant kick backs to menus
Weapons must be varied but also given as much detail and distinction. They should be loud and deadly and not feel like cheap plastic airsoft. Allow for weird shit for gameplay variety but make it still feel like a soldier would actually use it
Keep as much of the silly microtransaction shit into menus and icons. On the field they look like normal grunts with normal guns, but if he kills me I can see his silly anime premium dog tags and a dabbing emote or some shit, just keep in game looking normal.

Class locked guns so different classes can have different roles, and classes with the best gadgets can be balanced out by having worse weapons.
Good map design. I know that's a tautology but you know what I mean so I don't need to explain it.
Faction locked weapons. I know that'd piss a lot of people off but I still want it. If you need to you can have different guns for each team which have identical stats so things stay balanced. Maybe that's just my personal preference though. Or maybe it's not and they should try for some fucking verisimilitude. They already have different vehicles for each team, do the same for guns.

Open weapon access is good. The bonuses are dumb too. But really nothing dictates that the weapons should be limited by class. The gadgets are all better at closer ranges in general. Weapon decisions should depend on the map. Limiting engineers to SMGs on sprawling vehicle-heavy maps for example makes little sense. You just need to not make snipers really OP. OP snipers are annoying even if only recon can use them. Btw recon is the class to probably benefit most from open weapon classes. Its gadgets are great for aggressive flanking and shit but its held back by having to use snipers

You KNOW I'm right by the way because every Battlefield game switched up what class had access to what weapons and not once did it actually matter. BF4 is the one every retard praises and everyone wants that weapon system back but it is literally basically the same as open weapons. But nobody, NOBODY acts like Recon was ruined cuz it could use shotguns and carbines. NOBODY acts like Engineer was ruined for being able to use DMRs. Classes are defined by their gadgets not their guns. The only reason you don't think this is because you're already used to locked weapon classes, but there's actually not a single argument against it. Because it creates strengths and weaknesses to the class beyond gadgets. The engineer with SMGs has certain ranges he CAN'T do well in and certain ranges he does the BEST in. He has to pick his engagements properly. And every class has to do the same.
And the gadgets get balanced around these weaknesses too. Recon gets great close range recon because they need it to be able to do well due to their snipers. Medic classes have weaker guns due to their ability to self heal.

Battlefield was great when every single action had their own impact. You got points equal to the exact damage you did and more for a death, and even more for headshots. Not true, the classes just arent defined by their guns:

Not when every automatic weapon has no recoil like they did in 2042. You want to win every range with no thought. The whole point of classes is to make sure if one class gets such a gun then they can't do everything. But now you can get a squad where they all have the same all round average gun but all different gadgets and now they're unstoppable. Classes should only be capable of a certain engagement range, that limitation makes the maps be built with that in mind are are always better quality. An open vehicle map means engineers can't just wander around casually and take out the vehicles with minimal effort. It crates class identity. You see X class and know instantly what they can be doing and how and can easily know if you can take them out.
No weapon locks makes gadgets just feel like shitty CoD perks. They lack flavor and distinction.
