The story goes the original Sky duology was supposed to all be a single game, but the data limitations of the optical media had them split it in two. It had a very long script and lots of locations.
It was only later Falcom thought they could make games that were PURELY filler when they were making Trails of Cold Steel. That's when a lot of fans started to get mad feeling like they were being taken for a ride, ha ha...
