There's a couple of things like that. So okay, I can understand Mikhail deciding to blame all Aegises for the death of Milton. Even though Mythra didn't directly kill do it, it was her fight with Malos that Milton was caught in the middle of and ended with the destruction of Torna. That is 100% understandable and I do not begrudge Mikhail for becoming hateful, especially when it ended in him being captured and experimented on by Amalthus.

But can someone explain to me why the fuck Mikhail is working with Malos 500 years later? Malos is directly responsible for ruining his life. I know Jin is there but Jin himself really shouldn't be with Malos either. There's MSRP, the price set by the manufacturer (in this case, Nintendo), and the price set by the actual retailers.
Ideally, both of them want those prices to match. When a game gets a permanent price cut, the MSRP goes down, and the retailer matches it.
When a game isn't selling, the retailer on its own slashes the price, knowing they will incur a loss, but in exchange is more likely to clear out stock of something that was just using shelf space beforehand. Those are the games that show up in bargain bins.
There's also the opposite case where a product is selling so well that retailers on their own increase the price to have a larger cut, but that doesn't really apply here.
If the retailers are still selling the Xenoblades at 60 nowdays, it means both that Nintendo hasn't lowered the price themselves, and that they still sell at a steady enough rate for retailers not needing to try and get rid of them.

It takes WAY too long, I just used things bought in whatever city I needed to get to 5 stars. Honestly, they needed to give more affinity from fighting, because 5 points for getting to max affinity is fucking bullshit. I know they were thinking about how to balance it for the early game, because you would obviously hit max very early into most fights if you were doing things right, but the majority of the time you would get 100 points pretty fast and even in the cases of Common Blades with maxing out at 500 affinity points, that was still only 100 battles, super fast. Probably should have given us a viable mid game way to get affinity points that didn't involve quests.

This is still a surprise because even if you've only been rolling Blades on Rex the entire game and never did anything with Nia, Mòrag, or Zeke for god knows why, the game still makes it so that you encounter and can use Brighid who was exclusive to Mòrag until then, while also making it clear you can't use Poppi. And when you do NG+, Rex doesn't get his Master Driver abilities back until chapter 8, so it's closer to a generic "all Blades playable on Rex" override flag rather than something like setting 1 bit flags for each Driver across each Blade.

That's the whole point of the game after all. People with extraordinarily long lifespans and extraordinary abilities living those lives without any greater purpose.
Amalthus wants to take out his misanthropy on humanity by disrupting the Titan-Blade cycle through his Core Crystal cleansings, all while being an arms dealer by controlling all Core Crystal distribution, leading to violent conflicts over land and resources as both dwindle away.
Jin wants to take out his pain on the world that ripped Lora away from him. He knows it's not what she would have wanted, it's selfish, but it's a purpose, a meaning to his seemingly immortal life that he's forced to spend without her. And it gave him and Malos a shared raison d'être when he had no one left.
Malos holds the same misanthropy as Amalthus and great power, but he lacked any clear purpose. He would have been fine just impulsively destroying, but he's also fairly intelligent, so he begins to worry about his agency. Is he just an aspect of Amalthus, or is he his own person? Are his feelings his own? Jin's story is what allows Malos to contextualize his feelings of misanthropy, to give him agency, and that's why he has Jin lead Torna. Similarly, the rest of Torna are those wronged by Amalthus and humanity, and they're given a purpose with Jin and Malos.
Pyra and Mythra are blessed with immeasurable power that can be highly destructive, and they've lived the last 500 years in fear of it because of what happened last time, having no purpose. They want to meet the Architect to allow them to die.
Nia is still young relative to the others, and she's had her fair share of living alone on the run from humans, hiding who she is. She hadn't been fully broken, but she was in the early stages of a prolonged life without a reason to live.

I'll admit that I'm not the biggest fan of Amalthus. But the relationship between Amalthus and Malos was always kind of interesting to me. Malos and Amalthus both have the same shitty worldview towards people. Both assign themselves reasons why their attempts at genocide is perfectly fine. For Malos, he's the sword of god. Him killing everything is him enacting the will of god but he also very rarely invokes god's name when describing his actions. He just says "that's what I was created for" and he leaves it at that.

Amalthus is more frustrating because, unlike Malos, Amalthus has never so much as interacted with the architect. He climbed the world tree looking for him but he found nothing. So does that mean his god just isn't there? Well no. Not only does he decide that he personally will speak for god, he also decides in his heart that humanity doesn't deserve to live. And that this world is Hell and that god wants it this way. Because why would any god allow such incredible suffering and evil? Worse than that, he's doing everything in his power to ensure that the world at large can't recover and is responsible for the Titans dying off. In my case I saw Rex as a foil to Amalthus in a different way. I mentioned it in another thread but Rex kind of treats Pyra like his gun early on in XC2. It's not intentional, Rex is just immature. So when Vandham tells him to stop fighting and run away, Rex refuses and charges in anyway. Even as Pyra is yelping in pain because she can't keep up with what Rex is doing. Again not because Rex is a bad person, it's just that he's kind of a dumbass kid. It isn't until Jin calls him out that Rex realizes how he's kind of been using Pyra for his own ends with no regard for how it affects her. And he grows. He's now more willing to carry her burdens and work in a symbiotic relationship with her.

And if someone ever called him out on his horseshit, he can deflect by claiming he has a higher sad backstory credit score and therefore no one can correct him on the shit he does. Amalthus is a terrible person but we do see people who think this way. Where a terrible thing happened to them and they use that as justification to do bad things to other people rather than move on. They're grown babies which is why I can appreciate how Rex, despite being a literal child, can clown on Amalthus and show himself as more mature than him

At the end of 2, it's implied that Blades have taken on a new life cycle since they no longer need to mature into titans for humans to live on.
