As far as Malos knows, Pyra is going to summon her orbital doom laser on his head any second. Then when he gets comfortable and realizes what Pyra is, he gets aggressive in Uraya. Oops, Mythra woke up. And her orbital doom laser still works. And it got Obrona fucking atomized and Malos was forced to run. It's a great back and forth where the way they're acting is because neither has all the information on the other until time passes.

Speaking of Uraya, when Vandham takes his fatal wound, you can see Nia reach for her chest. She could save Vandham right there. But that would require revealing herself as a Flesh Eater, which she's not prepared to do. And in the obligatory hot tub scene, Mythra notices Nia's discolored Core Crystal and understands she's a Flesh Eater. But she respects Nia's wish to keep that a secret.

It's pretty fun, the gameplay is a bit rough on the edges and definitely needed 3 more months of cooking in the oven for some QoL, but it werks nonetheless. Battle system is my favorite in the franchise, it takes a while to open up, think like a Tales Of where it takes a while to have full access to the fun shit, but when you get there it gets really fun doing all those smash and combos and shit all while the kino battle narrator scrzams GREAT and AWESOME (in JP dub, EN battle narrator is utter shit and the very definition of boring). By the end of chapter 3 you get pretty much all the battle possibiliteis, do the story to reach that point and then do the sidequesting/exploration from that point instead of doing it too soon. Especially as you're still missing a team member for pretty much all of chapter 2.
And Xenoblade 2 definitely feels like you play an anime, it's good old shonen anime you'd get in the 80's or 90's, on top of doing nods to the classics. Very soulful.
It's a very story-driven game, so don't expect hangouts time or whatever, but the story is made in a way you get to have conversations with the girls and the other team members, in classic jrpg fashion. You also have some little cutscenes/dialogue events you can unlock, most of them are funny moments, some explore the backstory of the characters.

If you like jrpgs in general, yeah, nowadays too few jrpgs give you that feeling of "I'm going on an adventure!", but Xenoblades still scratch that itch. Since there's a thread in parallel, I'd say XC2 is the closest a modern game has come to the feelings Skies of Arcadia is able to give, despite not having any airship. It's kind of baffling how they don't fully make use of their IP. Though, if I leave Pokemon apart, I see more and more goodies over the years, mainly Mario ones, but god damn they sure took their time.
I can understand them wanting to keep control over it, to not saturate the market and make things feel "special", but they definitely should collab more with GSC and the likes. I can understand -even if debatable- why they'll allow, say, only a single fig for a specific character instead of whoring them out like a Ryza getting 9000 figs, but if so, they should allow more figs overall.
How come there's no GSC scale for BotW or TotK is beyond me. They could release just one princess Zelda and one Link fig for each Zelda entry, and they would make bank. Easy money left on the table.

They do license to media from time to time, splatoon and FE engage manga are ongoing, and Zelda have a well known manga, but licensing that kind of stuff still need go through whole corporate ladder, Pokemon company got created exactly to handle this kind of scenario.
