There is an elevator below the boss room in Shellwood that leads to a bench, makes the run back like 20 seconds. I'm currently stuck on the very same boss, despite how simplistic it is mechanically. Those fucking ads keep getting me. I read about an upgrade in Deep Docks that can be used to apply flame to the needle so I might go hunting for that

The biggest one I’ve seen people struggle with is the pogo. HK encourages you to just mash it like crazy while Silksong requires you to actually time it correctly.
A lot of people are getting filtered with their muscle memory and think it’s bad.

I got the dash/run, I fought lace, I went through the hunter's march or w/e. I have no clue where the game wants me to go next. There's some areas that want me to have a double jump or wall jump, and 2 areas imply some kind of float/glide that will take me up gusts of wind, and then a couple of areas with locks from the other side. No clue what i'm supposed to do.

My only guess is that they want me to buy the key from the the camp in the beginning to unlock one of the doors to progress and if that's the case that's retarded considering how much it costs, i'd have to boringly grind out the hunter ant guys.

Honestly, this game is kind of a mess.
I'm in act 2 and there seems to be less focus on interesting exploration and more on combat scenarios, but the combat balancing is so beyond fucked that it's simply fucking miserable to explore new areas, especially since they kept the dogshit map system from the first game. The runbacks to bosses are some of the worst I've ever fucking seen in a game and the fact that EVERYTHING does 2 masks of damage since the very start of the game is absolutely moronic, it makes your first mask upgrade completely fucking useless against bosses since you still take 3 hits to die. The pogo on default crest feels fucking terrible and the dash is fun at first but becomes really fucking clunky the more you play.
I kinda fucking hate to say this since I waited for this game like it was the second coming of christ, but Ender Magnolia completely and utterly shits on Silksong unless they patch the combat balancing.
