If energy management is your biggest issue, make sure to always pick the middle option during the first new years and the top during the second. Alwas try to focus speed, even during Junior Year when building friendships, since you want to level it up fast. For example if there's 3 friendships in guts and 2 in speed, you would rather speed even if guts would give more overall friendship. If there's a hint in guys and 1 friendship in speed, then you pick guts, and so on.
After that, focus on speed. If there's a bigger number on the other stat you want to build then pick that obviously, but in harder to choose cases, pick whichever one you need most
If you don't know when to rest, lets say you're under 50% and can fail, then you get a +30 training in speed. Since it's just one rainbow, you would rather resting to heal up and have the chance to safely train bigger numbers if they appear. Of course, the higher the number, the higher the risks you should take. When there's no rainbows, or if you need a bit of energy but not so much that you want to rest, just train wit, though in this case you'd take the +30 speed most of the time. It's really not that hard.

Small piece of advice: When you're in career and you decide to do an optional race on a turn (because you need skill points or the other options aren't good), make sure to look at your options and fish for an appropriate green skills if possible. Winning races has a chance of giving you an associated green skills, so if you pick a race with some conditions matching the CM conditions you're training for, you might get a free green skill (e.g. a 1800m optional race has a chance to give you a Non-Standard Distance hint).

Good fronts are hard to build due to skill RNG and spark RNG, especially so if they don't innately have a relevant green for groundwork. The easiest one for this CM is probably Seiun since she has front runner savy and Escape Artist along with good aptitudes that can be raised to S.

There's like 250+ trainers on /v/. Of those, I think most of them don't take CMs that seriously. Of the serious trainers, many of them dont enter rooms. Of the ones who do enter rooms, they only enter when they feel they're ready. So a lot of people must not feel they're ready.
