Best game I had in MP in EU4 was all of us playing in Asia only, me being the Emperor of Japan - full daimyos, Ming, Korea, Jurchen tribes...
It was quite fun, a bit RP, but not too retarded. It was hilarious how quickly Japan roflstomped everyone else, cuz we had a rule everyone should listen to the Emperor and not start internal war immediately, which somehow actually worked. It was just a 4 hour one-shot though. I had a lot of fun excommunicating daimyos who refused to give me gifts, and who would start wars in Japan against other players (there were like 5 free daimyos who were fair game). It was also fun distributing the conquered land after we won each war. Obviously I gave land to the most distinguished and honourable warlords. I wonder how that kind of game would turn out in 5. I'm watching the ludi video about Byz now, and when I finish it I will decide if I order 5 now.

Well, as far as I understood it, there are no "mana" actions - only gold can be used for immediate actions. The admin/diplo/mil make your ruler improve your country by scaling modifiers, and you have a cabinet, which does particular tasks, and the better they are in their field, the better they do the tasks. Like culture conversion isn't a mana click, it's sending some guy from your cabinet to convert people.

Stability is now a resource that go from -100 to +100. Changing laws can cost stability. But mostly instant magical actions are (mostly) gone. Everything now takes time instead. Also no development anymore, there's pops instead.

It looks worth playing. From what I've watched, it almost feels like Vic 3, CK3 and EU4 were all test drives for combining many parts of these games systems together to create a more intricate simulator. Basically it has elements of management from all these games. It looks like it has a lot of depth but it's all predicated on filled out unique features for particular regions which I'm sure will take a while to get anywhere satisfactory. It looks a lot better than their recent releases.

I've seen a video where during battle, if your enemies have no morale, they will lose the fight easily but barely have casualties.
Only when he let them rest for a bit and fought again he could decimate them again. So it was a cycle of battle --> wait for them to get in the mood to fight again --> rinse and repeat.

America looking pretty barren without them though. They are still there, but don't own land directly. EU5 has many of these kind of TAGs like banks and the Hansa as well. It's Paradox so it'll be meh as usual, it'll need years for it to be good, and even then the AI will never be able to pose a threat or be actually interesting to play against. Vic 3 and Ck3 has destroyed all the trust I have in Paradox, years of DLC and they can't be arsed to make the AI actually be semi-competent with the systems they add into the game and idk provide some sort of challenge so you don't just end up painting the map like usual.

I fucking wish Stellaris had automation. Sectors were incredible for emergent gameplay and flavor and I hoped they'd get expanded upon, but instead they got removed. I have to play with 0.25x habitable worlds to even feel something or the micro makes the game unplayable.
Automation would help you sense the scale even better if it is actually simulated to the nitty gritty under it, delegate tasks to councilors and powerful figures, designate specific sectors/planets/provinces for specific goods, roleplay what would be your defensive march, your economic heartland, your food breadbasket.

I actually think it's the opposite when it comes to CK3, it released with good content, I bought CK2 when it came out and the difference in content between base ck2 and base ck3 is insane, ck3 was really good day 1. The problem are the DLCs themselves which are very mediocre and I don't know why I keep buying them.
I remember CK2 had some dlc activator, you pirated the dlcs, launched some .exe and it was like you owned them, it wasn't creampie it was just some shit called dlc activator.

There are tons of good RTS games with very good AI that will absolutely wreck you, but if that isn't your style there are options below it that you can turn it down to. What does paradox offer? Anaemic garbo AI in all their games, with nothing in between. The whole "You think you want that but you don't" is such a strawman that they've used, no one is asking for a AI that plays optimally at every tick spent in game, but I do expect AI, to swamp on me if I play bad for 90 years, instead of just sitting there, doing nothing, and waiting for me to rail on them whenever I am ready, that's not fun.

You could have an insane amount of dev in your capital as any country just from pillaging development. Nowadays it takes the development cost of your capital into account so you can't even pillage from most territories and it's ridiculously inefficient if you do. Nowadays it's only worth it in the mid- to late game if you accidentally fuck up and get too much overextension. Back then the portion of development transferred to the capital was constant, so it was easily possible to get a thousand dev capital or something rodiculous like that WHILE BLOBBING.
