It's not just that, it's not even that video games were mostly marketed for white males. It's that the career path to be working in video games was always narrow as fuck despite how massive the US. If you dont live anywhere near California, you just arent gonna be in the industry. Where one would think across the country US game companies would have multiple branches in numerous parts of the country. The entire video industy and really the whole media industry is concentrated in a small part of California, where everything is gatekept . This is why Americans are always seething about California making everything gay. That state holds a monoply on all media creation in the US. And it's been that way since the early 2000s now.
