The movie's good; obviously not perfect, but with the benefit of seeing how they adapted Cingrey I think they're starting to get the format down right.
I definitely think that they could still take it farther with introducing meaningful flaws to the characters, and with trying to weave the events around a solid theme.
Hopefully this franchise's success will allow for future attempts to be given more creative freedom in that regard.

Vodka just feels like more of a pain in the ass to build, for Daiwa I only need to stat pump to get over the Japanese Derby hurdle and its pretty much smooth sailing from there.
Compared to Vodka she can be built as a decent front runner, she doesn't have crazy events that give major mood swings, so she's reliable all around. Getting a legacy to boost those A's into S's are pretty easily done (fortune willing) to make a competent Scarlet.
Unfortunately don't have an image of a good one because I've been getting fucked by RNG so even though I clear through Ura Finals multiple times she doesn't get the legacy procs or fumbles so many stats in 5% training failures that even being better then my current milers, that still means she's god awful.

You need 600 in the stat to have a chance of 3* in it, and 1100 in the stat doubles the chance (if the RNG picks the stat) to 3* it.
Also white genes are super RNG but you can only get them if you learn the related skills/win the related races.
There's SOME level of influence the run has on what sparks can be, but it's still RNG at the end of the day.

Maestro is very, very mildly better because breath of fresh air has a low chance to occur right out the gate and not give the full heal or happen during the final spurt thus do nothing.
Personally I wish the would add a gold version of triple 7's, that's the most reliable dependable white heal because you know EXACTLY where it'll heal every race.
The reason the other generic gold recovery is bad is because one requires you to be blocked in the first leg and the other requires you boxed in during the middle length
The other gold recovery require specific stratergy/lengths. For example; trailblazer and cooldown are both really good gold recoveries, the same heal as maestro but always activates at an optimal time (mid-section of the race) and can activate anywhere. The only difference is trailblazer only activates on mid and cooldown on long which restricts what races they can be used on.
