Yeah I read chapter 2 and I'm having some issues with the manga so far

The art is very inconsistent and downright ugly at times. I know it's meant to be more stylized but a lot of the human NPCs look very wonky and the expressions are very exaggerated in a weird way. Maybe it's just that I don't like those anime meme faces I always thought they looked ugly and unfunny

I also don't think Yuta is that interesting, he's kind of a generic underdog shounen protag. I don't hate him or anything but eh

Idk let's see how things go, I've been liking the action scenes at least, and it's just the beginning anyways

Yeah chilli dogs were a SatAM thing, they appeared first in Archie but Archie was based on SatAM. Both the show and the comic were meant to come out around the same time in late 1992 for the release of Sonic 2, but there were some licensing problems with SatAM and the show got split in two and aired in 1993

Then years later Sonic Team made them canon in Unleashed, either to appease westerners or to give Sonic an identifiable character trait for merchandise and stuff

Yes and no, the difference is that in the Sonic Channel stories, everyone is in character. Sonic X does SoL but with deviations in characterization I don't like.
