He's not legally obligated too (presumably) though it would probably look bad on a resume/background check. Best case would be him giving it over the phone and saying he's come down with an unexpected illness. Best course of action at that moment, would be buying bus tickets (cheap) and going at least 100 miles out. They could panhandle/homeless shelter while Andrew gets work of some sort via hiring agency, same with Ashley. Then after a rough 2-3 week stretch, they can look for apartments. They'll have nothing at first, but after about 6 months to a year it'll be a nice little rest egg. Then once they're stable they can decide if they wanna go further, or stay where they are.
