it honestly surprises me how quick people dropped this game and went back to genshin or star rail
and it really sucks to see that because you can tell they put a lot of effort into this one
the artstyle is gorgeous, the visuals are unmatched in the entire gacha market, the animations are fluid and incredibly satisfying, the urban fantasy theme is great, the character designs are okay for a gacha compared to many other games in this market
they also have like a hundred different unique props and textures in each area so i can only imagine how much budget this game takes for all of that

you can tell the developers really thought everything out, but even then, this game failed to top star rail's launch numbers and has been seeing a slow decline ever since to the point they had to "relaunch" the game

the beach event is honestly refreshing, especially for hoyo
they have been adamant on not doing themed events that mirror real world stuff in their other two games, but they made an exception here, so it's promising

It's because Genshin got popular due to pandemic + first mainstream breakout gacha while HSR got their big breakout with waifu pandering with Firefly.

ZZZ is kinda ultra safe. Yes there are hot girls but the waifu pandering is on the safe side. It's not a big open world style game with a sprawling world.

It's a technically impressive action game with gorgeous animations but it just kinda lacks focus and is all over the place. The lore is garbage, the villains suck ass. The proxies don't know what they want to be.

We have SEED for example as a mecha waifu. Firefly was super popular with all the waifu pandering and so achieved success. SEED just kinda got pushed out the door with little fanfare and build up. Same with Vivian desu. Yeah she is hot and there is pandering in the game but there was no real build up.

ZZZ characters just kinda have the tendency to get pushed out the door with little fanfare; hoping people will roll for them. This worked for some of them like Jane and Burnice but the real success was Miyabi who had proper buildup at the time.

They could have served Sanby so much more effectively for example. Not sure what the fuck they were doing there.
