it's light pen so you're already aiming for weakpoints, and the thing is a borderline laser beam. it doesn't shit raw DPS like a kitted knight, but it's not far off and is arguably more stable to control. good usage will have you tearing the weak points up pretty fast. does mean that when a ton of devastators come swarming your way you'll be burning ammo like crazy though.

I have no strong feelings whatsoever towards the Halo bond, it's nice that they're doing this and it's reinvigorating part of the modding scene, the one saving grace this game still has.
What I'm actually upset by is Dust Devils. Data miners confirmed that the release version of the missile silo won't be able to wreck jammers and detectors, making it significantly less cool than I hoped it would be. The AR looks to be yet another point blank spam item onto the pile of point blank spam items. There's yet another pointless uninspired armor perk. The spear gun will likely be pointlessly range constrained and ap3 with a "b-but it does gas" disclaimer. Don't care for incel EAT or yet another grenade I'll pass on in favor of thermites.

Every factory strider that gets dropped off has its turret broken off by the drop ship hell there was one missions I played yesterday where entire bot drops were getting destroyed by the drop ship and dropped off as piles of dead bodies.

Incendiary ammo is such a meme, with the ammo and damage cut you pay to get that status effect, you could've easily already killed whatever you're shooting at with a normal version of the gun.

Arrowhead chasing simulation autism for Helldivers 2 was a monumental mistake, and it's biting them in the ass more and more as the game ages. The armor system didn't need to be 7 tiers, it could have easily been condensed down to 4 -- light, medium, heavy and super heavy (buildings, factory striders). Durability damage is a fucking meme that AH constantly forget to account for, and then buff the weapons affected to the point you get MiB neuralyzed and forget it exists. Penetration and angle of attack were reduced to borderline irrelevancy, but then it occasionally rears its head because Alexus mentally plants himself back into early 2024. Drag factor is an utterly inconsequential stat for 99% of guns, and the only reason most people even know its exists is because of how badly it fucked the Plasma Accelerator.

If I worked at AH, I'd be going at this game like the fucking team from Armageddon scrapping the drill platform NASA built because it's an over-designed piece of shit.

I find D7-8 be the most fun. D10 feels like a job: everyone knows what they're doing and you're expected to adhere strictly to how "you're supposed to play". Even if you fuck up others are generally skilled enough to pick up the slack. At d7-8 half the players dont somehow know what they're doing making it a lot more chaotic and unpredictable. There's enough enemies so you struggle a bit to solo them if things go south. You can take off-meta loadouts without being kicked. You also see a lot more of these off-meta weapons and loadouts (like guy running RR backpack + GL against bots so he can teamreload you and mop up devs with the GL, worked surprisingly well and is still one of my fondest memories)

Now that I've had a few hours with them the new weapons I think they're kind of a mixed bag. Pistol is ass, don't really see a reason to take it over the Talon, and even then the Verdict is still an upgrade. The SMG seems to be about on par with the Killzone SMG, that is to say kinda shit. AR seems to be a decent middle ground between the libpen and adjudicator, I'm sure both of those are probably technically better than the AR but running it, it seems to perform comparably enough. Shotgun is a lot of fun on bugs, to be honest I never really run shotguns on anything else.

Wish the SMG and Pistol were a bit better. I love the suppressed SMG from ODST even if it was kinda mid in that game too.

I've thought that yhe Admech is the only way to have a satisfying 40K bond.
All the IG stuff is already in the game, getting slightly different variants of existing weapons is dumb. The Missile Launcher is about the best thing I could think of.
Space Marines don't have the right vibe, and besides melee weapons have some of the same problems.

The Admech has Volkite and Rad weapons, could conceivably have tons of weird shit like Servitor "turrets", and has good outfit synergy with Helldivers.
I figured, a "dog", that's a mechadendrite that behaves like a shorter range Dog Breath would ge great, too.

AR is "fine". Fits in with the other medium pen ARs, isn't spectacular, but is fine. I like the Adjudicator more, but, we're in the realm of personal preference.
SMG is dogshit, one of the worst weapons in the game, and the stealth doesn't work. Even if the stealth does start working, it's too dogshit to function.
Shotgun isn't the worst. I don't think it's the best shotgun by a mile, but, it has qualities that are decent. Niche.
Pistol is a haha funny joke. It MIGHT see use on stealth builds once they fix it, but that's just due to lack of alternatives. Do not take this weapon with the intent of your secondary contributing to the game. The SMG probably never will because the Crossbow is just better in every way.

You get almost four times as many 500 kg as an account with no modules, that just got it.
Your resupplies are faster and fill you up more.
Your cooldowns are shorter across the board, your turrets have 50% more ammo, spend less of it shooting nothing while turning, and survive more, tons of your stratagems come out faster.

I've been playing with a buddy who started two weeks ago, and swap controllers with him so he can try weapons before he buys bonds. Your stratagems fucking SUCK early on.

Unpopular opinion, I always hated how it looked in the game, and I expected to hate it in this, but I actually really love it. I wish I could put it on other guns.

That might sound stupid but really, the small size works to its advantage. It doesn't have any zoom, just like the normal reflex sights. The advantage is, it being so small makes it work like a peep sight with a bit more visibility. It being holographic (Move with it, the reticle has the parallax and shows actual point of aim) makes it more easily tracked. It keeps the field of view up while still being clearer than irons. The gun being laser accurate helps.

Honestly, love it way more than that dogshit "Reflex sight" half the guns come with now. Fuck I hate that uneven rectangular bullshit so, so much, this feels way better to me.

HMG, AMR and HMGe fire the same caliber, but not the same projectile.
HMG is BCHP, AMR is EIT, HMGe FMJ. All 12.5x100mm
For some reason, High Command doesnt trust us with firing FMJ in our handheld HMGs. The AMR does more damage obviously. More damage than the 20mm APHE, for some reason.
The Amendment is 8mm, same as the MMG, Adjudicator, Constitution or Deadeye, but doesnt have AP3.
The only difference between the DCS and Diligence in terms of ammo is, the DCS fires HYPER-VELOCITY rounds, which, for some reason, make it do more damage.
Slugger fires 18mm but does less damage than the Deadeye because...it just does ok?

The armor system is some convoluted bullshit on its own, ranging from AP5 to AP9, of which only AP8 exists for the jellyfish ship in the sky, and 6 being the only constant building / heavy-armor armor class.

This game is honestly a great example of why "realistic bullet damage profiles" is a shit idea, unless you're willing to go all the way and allow for you to choose differing compatible ammo types.
Balance just becomes a lot harder, and you end up with file bloat. (because if multiple guns share the same ammo, but you want to reduce the damage of one of them, now you have to make a whole new ammo type just for that one gun)

PSA on that, I don't know why the everloving fuck they didn't do a more performance-focused/anti-jank patch before a launch, or why they didn't even bother with patch notes, but they changed shit. The FRV being one such thing. I've been driving in higher years a while but still never took it on full missions because friends would bitch because they got on the turret and immediately died when we hit a pebble.

They seem to have fixed it a bit. Saw another anon post this webm, and it seems accurate. They gave it more weight and an actual suspension. It isn't perfect, still had a few moon craters flip me over headfirst, but generally seems to be going much, much better, even in main drive. Hell, I even repeatedly did two-wheel stands taking it out SC farming to test, and then righted the vehicle, which almost 100% would've just been flips before. Makes me happy because all I wanted on launch was a car but the dogshit handling had made me never take the thing.

Squid difficulty does not scale pretty much at all with difficulty level, meaning that anyone who plays casually at dif 6 or below will find them much harder than any other faction. At Dif 10 however they are kind of a joke compared to bugs or bots. I think Bots are the hardest faction at Dif 10 due to the sheer AP checks they contain but they're also pretty fair and predictable which is why players tend to prefer them.

A 40k crossover will be Krieg. But not because of some nazi larp. It's because Arrowhead REFUSE to texture faces and facial animations so things like Cadians and Mordians will never happen. Whereas Krieg have their faces permanently covered. I don't want Krieg but they will inevitably be the main choice as their ease of creation to purchase ratio is the best among guard regiments that could be translated into the game.
