Path of Mourning has 3 guaranteed rare chests right on the checkpoint, and Utzaal usually has one on a checkpoint after Viper. I was running Frozen Mandibles as Bound Spectres. Completely nerfed as of today. Next best option as far as I know is Vaal Guards? But they tank my performance and is literally unplayable PS5. SSF is way more reasonable and enjoyable in poe 1. You don't need tier 0 items or BiS crafts to farm whatever content you like best, and you have dozens of builds to choose from for your starters. When something worthwhile does drop for you, you have way more options to use it on the reroll too.

I've tried several ways to make meme minions like instability on skel warriors that detonate into raging igniting spirits, cast on death fire storms/walls of fire/whatever, none of this feels good, or does any damage worth mentioning and takes a shitload of setup and full skill bars.
The only way to play minions seems to be just to have as many of them out as possible to clog the map while you wait for Contagion to spread.

And the second you're fighting a boss, you're fucked because theres no corpses around to do anything with and all the minions they summon DONT EVEN FUCKING LEAVE CORPSES.

And why did they not nerf the one thing that over half the playerbase used to get through campaign?
They NEVER buff bad skills.
This is supposed to be a beta, they should treat it like one.

not bad for a homebrew - cast on ailment is sick and you can make use of all your infusions with some smart spell choices.
still quite the gap vs deadeye but it's fun raining the screen w/ comets, walls, novas and storms.

it took me getting two and a half characters to interludes before i acquired enough damage to kill white mobs in 2-3 hits.
I did a few 18 hour sessions of facerolling the first and a half squishy paper-cutting characters trudging through just to collect the 3 free exalted orbs from the bells in Arastas so I could afford to get into the market and buy gear that had some magic find and movement speed on them, so eventually when i got to where i am now on my current character i could afford a weapon and a chest piece with whatever scraps i could afford from what was left over after pedantically picking up every white and blue i could find to ID, sell & breakdown while scouring every corner of each area with a fine toothed comb, only starting to find yellows outside of boss drops & events on my third attempt post-magic find acquisition since I finally had enough magic find to find gear with magic find on them. My resistances are coming from three free Act 2 rings and three blank runes, as well as the free charms given out, plus the cheap magic find gear i purchased.
I am currently a level 46 Tactician, and my defenses are as follows: 776 Life, 48 ES, 278 Mana, 4% Fire Res, -20% Cold Res, -20% Lit Res, 0% Chaos Res, 14% Armour, 1% Evasion, and 29% Block. The highest DPS tag on my spear skills says it deals 776 DPS. My first and a half characters were a warrior and sorceress and I felt the most powerful with a sorceress because they had a really potent skill tree, and provided me with most of my wealth, but I hit a wall much harder with them than the other classes, nor was I able to grind my way through getting their ascendancy on either trial, hence "half"
I have finally made it to maps this league using this Tactician. The only other time was during 0.1. This is my first time interacting/looking at outside resources so I've gotta know: Is this normal performance? How much of this is skill issue and how much of this is the fault of the current iteration of the game?

Okay so the Abyssal Striders are actually pretty fucking good. Not quite as good as Vaal Guards but if that build is melting your PC Striders are a good alternative so far. Just ran a low tier map and boss with them successfully. Not as good as VG at mobs, as they mostly use their spears, but they take up a lot of room and have a lightning ability that they use sometimes that's good against the mobs. Great against the boss I fought.
I'm running Rapid Attacks 2, Feeding Frenzy 2, Execute 2 for a total of 6765 life/1353per second life regen/518 armor/2296 DPS
I'm mostly specced into minion AOE which isn't doing much for this build so you might be able to tune it to be quite better
