skyrim modding is only useful for COOMbrained stuff or silly one trick pony mods.
I am someone who has modded this stupid fucking game since the Skyrim mod scene began, then took a big break. I realise now that all the non-coom modders are looking for a specific experience that they can never have; to play Skyrim for the first time, enjoy it, and feel like the game has that sense of "wonder" to it.
People will use these huge modlists with hundreds of mods aimed at "breathing life" into Skyrim. That new "wabbajack" tool or mod collections make this incredibly obvious; people want Skyrim+, they want the Skyrim they know but with a million new bells and whistles added in an "immersive" way so it isn't screaming "THIS IS A MOD" in your face.
They want to immerse themselves in the game, and play through it on these cool epic modded saves-but they never do. Most get to around or just after the point where you rescue Esbern from the Ratway, and then stop. It's like when people say there's an annual "Minecraft phase" every year-for many, it's a Skyrim phase. Now that its getting darker earlier and colder, I too felt the pang to get all cosy and play the big open world fantasy game. But I won't, because I know that I'm not trying to play Skyrim, I'm trying to play a game that doesn't exist using Skyrim as a proxy for it.
