Because portable anti tank is more for letting them build up then killing any one thing.
Two anti tanks are kinda fucking shit, you want to have like six over there, for when three bile titans show up at once and you can't 500 them all.
Otherwise, the support slot is just for fixing critical loadout issues that your primary, secondary, and grenade have at the cost of a stratagem. Once you get a good set of main slot weapons, you really don't NEED support weapons anymore.

the play is to synergize low footprint AT with other stuff like your autocannon or overpowered primaries which then allow you to save up on those precious eagles and orbitals. This was almost assuredly in preparation for the caves, much like how the extraction pelicans have been drunk as fuck for about two months, in preparation for having to use navigation to land instead of much more stable canned landings for extraction points with clear, predetermined surroundings.
Now, instead of being called in on the beacon, the game looks for a spot it is happy with near the beacon, and picks it for you.
Because AH doesn't fucking play their own game, and any time the game makes a decision is worse than any time the player makes one, they never saw the problems with the game throwing you miles outside the map, reinforcing everyone on top of eachother, throwing you on top of a cliff or building the game doesn't want you going up, so refuses to let you cross the cliff barrier to escape, throwing you in the middle of a lake, ect.

Before there was a limited amount of player agency, mostly in doing weird shit unrelated to directives, or the Chinese specifically getting shit done through a combination of bug hive mind and aggressive hacking, but now planetary actions are basically impossible without comically low invasion or resistance levels, and raw number orders have been cheated since forever ago.

Every single damage dealing weapon in the game has a durable damage stat, in addition to their normal damage.
When a weapon hits a target, their durable stat is used as a ratio. The number given for durable is the % of your damage that will be determined by your weapons durable damage stat.

If a weapon deals 100 damage, and 20 durable damage, and you shoot a target with 75 durability, then assuming all other modifiers are controlled, the ratio means you deal 75% of your durable damage, and 25% of your normal damage.
25% of 100 is 25.
75% of 20 is 15.
Your final damage dealt is thus 40.

If you shoot a target with 50 durable, with the same weapon, you will deal 50% of your normal 100, that's 50, and 50% of your durable 20, that's 10, for 60 damage total.

Some parts will have their durable stat reduced as they take damage and progress through destruction states, some don't.
There's no way to see either the durable damage a weapon deals, or the durable stat of enemy parts, in game. Use a wiki.
Durable damage is, crucially, affected by every single modifier a weapon is normally subjected to, such as the 35% damage penalty for meeting an armor class, damage falloff from range, or any specific resistances a particular enemy or part has. The only broad exception is explosives, which USUALLY completely ignore durability as a stat (though, the projectile itself still interacts). This is broadly why explosives have only gotten better as the game has gone on, because someone has become obsessed with slapping massive durability values on parts of enemies, that explosives just ignore.
This is ALSO part of why light pen weapons are so dogshit. Light pen weapons typically have absolutely ass durable damage, and the "unarmored" parts of shit like bile titans hover at or around 100 durability.

Demolition force is a property that applies to objects and building, that simply destroys them if they are hit by something with Demolition Force above what their resistance is, irrespective of damage dealt. All true explosives have some, but may not have enough for particular targets. You can't destroy a bot gunship tower with any number of grenades, for example.
Some things have a mix of Demolition force, and hp/armor, where overcoming the demo force will kill them instantly regardless of damage dealt, but they can also be destroyed by enough damage of a particular armor class, like a normal enemy.

SOMETIMES it does, but very inconsistently, in a way I'm not certain is really the armor doing anything, as opposed to the arc weapons just behaving strangely sometimes.
What it DOES do, with vit booster, is let you barely survive either tesla tower. You'll die to a headshot or chest cripple, or the slightest bit of chip beforehand, but you will survive the bolt if you're topped off.
Under perfect, laboratory conditions, the heavy dune set will more consistently help you barely survive an arc thrower, assuming you have vitality booster AND experimental infusion's damage reduction going, but at that point, it's pointless, and STILL isn't perfectly consistent, sometimes you just die anyways, possibly due to headshots, possibly due to multiple hits, possibly due to Swedish black magic swallowing your soul. The blitzer still fucks you anywhere but the fringe of the cone.

Ironically Darktide has similar systems to Helldivers when it comes to parts of an enemy having different armour values. Its not as complex or interactive but its there to reward player knowledge.

Unless your playing a special event or modifier, most classes can sneeze and kill crushers in one or two hits.

One of very early Stingray games, the first "proper" one was War of the Roses, a PvP medieval slasher, think Chivalry or Mordhau, and one of it's major features was a realistic armor system with proper weakspots - hitting a guy in an armpit or in his face when he had an open helmet was much more damaging.
Pretty much every Stingray game afterwards used it to some degree because it's one of main selling points (and one of few things that actually genuinely work well) as to why one would even bother with it.
