i understand what you're saying man but you have to admit the *only* appeal of gacha is *not* the gameplay, and that for a not insignificant amount of people, especially twitter egirls and tranny teens to young adults, a lot of the appeal is serialized characters and gambling in order to get them. there are a few gacha games with actual competent gameplay that makes them maybe "worth playing" in that regard, but that's overshadowed greatly by a lot of samey cashgrab autobattlers.
i tried genshin and star rail and while i will admit that both do have actual gameplay, the actual gameplay is not really that much to write home about, and you wouldn't be playing it just for that unless you are the type that's never played another game. sure, you can say this about standard jrpgs like nep as well, but they have the advantage of not being infinitely updated live service games that try to convince you to spend money on them, and that's worth something.
the bigger problem i have with you gacha fags is that this is nepgen, not genshin general, you have other places you can go to discuss this, and shouldn't be shitting up our thread.

What is it worth, exactly, and what does it mean? That nepslop is better than xslop (that happens to be gacha).
I don't know man. The reason so many otakus left is that some gacha games were offering a higher quality and easier product. That's how the market is. As an example, all the otaku devs response SHOULD'VE been what Compile Heart did with Megadimension Neptunia VII: up the fanservice, the quality, the gameplay the delivery, the soundtrack.
And what do you know, VII was the best selling nep game (I think), it made neps /v/ culture for time, we had it good. And we all thought it could only get better from here.
That didn't happen. What did Compile Heart and Idea Factory do with all the money they got from VII? Did they take their time and make VIII?
No, they didn't. Instead, they made spinoff after spinoff and two remakes of games that DID NOT NEED remakes.
Now you might think I'm conveniently ignoring all the other games they made in the meanwhile like Fairy Fencer F and the like. That's nice they made them. But that's the thing. They're still making otaku games, despite being infamously among the lowest of the lowest budget for a significant studio. So what exactly is the problem here? That other devs weren't so lucky?
I think those other devs just made stupid business decisions because they failed to adapt to a changing industry, and considering how Japanese suits are... yeah I'm not surprised.
Now I wish for a universe where instead of all those spinoffs we got another massive mainline nep game. Neptunia could've been a major name, the hero we needed. But unfortunately, that's not what happened, because Compa prefers to make many low budget games that they like, and rather than invest back into one Neptunia release.
There's nothing wrong with that... but the market changed, and they realized too late. At least they're still moving slowly along.

I am, the tides don't change on their own, they required delusional, bottom-feeding gachabuta like him to accept and embrace this shit. Gacha would have not taken off if otaku had the smarts and moral integrity to reject it. He is emblematic of why this shit is now so prevalent; not only does he play it, he defends it like it's a good thing. Of course, what I CAN'T really fault is people looking to gacha as the only source of anime/bishoujo-style fanservice since it got all but eradicated from retail platforms, but that in itself is a self-sustaining prophecy; now even if the platforms do end up reversing their anti-anime policies, you still have the majority of the audience hooked on these garbage gachas, and so basic business calculus dicatates why go back to retail games when these are easier to make and much more profitable (when successful). Again, the only thing that could have thrown a wrench in this calculus is otakus rejecting gacha, but they didn't, and now we're here.

In addition to >>542430258, this requires increasing the budget even further, beyond what a dev like Compa is likely able to handle. And at a time when the audience they target prefers to invest in gachas instead of traditional games, they likely don't have the money lying around to do that. I seriously doubt current Compile Heart has anywhere near the budget they had during the Vita/early PS4 era, let alone any ability to go further. They're just stuck because console censorship kneecapped them and then gachas took over their market.

Somewhere in the middle would probably be a good speed, it is a bit too long to watch repeatedly honestly. That goes for all the ultimate moves though, especially if you are fighting a boss. The gun animations were fine as they were though, if we just talk about speed. Ai chan can jump. Noire too.

it's incredibly sad to me because at their peak i think these games were fucking phenomenal. i've interacted with very few but i played a bit of senran kagura after recently hacking my vita and oh my god it's amazing! i'm glad there's a lot of stuff left for me to play due to how green i am in this field but it's soul-crushing to think that the "modern equivalents" are nikke, hoyoslop, and blue archive. these games are less lewd and less high quality than probably anything in that realm and it shows immensely. it's hilarious to even suggest that they're a worthwhile modern equivalent

Although it's really Sony's fault(and maybe Marvy's for not being willing to try developing a mainline for Switch), it really shows how gacha affects the ecchi gaming landscape cuz we went from a competent beat-em-up franchise with dozens of characters and shooter spinoffs to a fucking card game. Like, they could have made a mobile Senran Kagura, multiple beat-em-ups exist to prove that, especially Action Taimanin, but they just... don't need to.

tl:dr, gacha fucks over the ecchi gaming sphere because it's way more profitable and doesn't have remotely near as tough of competition in terms of gameplay because it usually releases on the mobile market where the standard is much lower due to control limitations. Senran gacha is a good example of this, where they went from pumping out a bunch of fairly competent beat-em-ups with some shooter and pinball spinoffs or whatever to a fucking card game, not because they couldn't make a mobile beat-em-up but because the standard on mobile is low enough that they don't need to.
