The thing about Asa and Denji is that they cannot move past their trauma if they don't find genuine love. Asa deeply cares for Denji because she relates to him and has everything that would make him happy. The only problem I have is that their "romance" is still somewhat "one-sided"; Asa likes Denji romantically, while Denji sees her more as a great friend (for now). This is why I liked the latest chapter a lot; it makes it seem like Fujimoto is finally moving forward with their relationship after ignoring it for so long. In a way, AsaDen is still a "potential ship", but that doesn't mean that it won't happen or disappoint. The latest direction is making me hopeful, and I literally can't see a way for this manga to end satisfyingly without them ending up together and healing each other with genuine affection. Also, every time they've been acting happy or cutesy together, be it during the falling arc, the aquarium date, or the latest chapter, it just puts a smile on my face. I think they have good chemistry when they're just being wholesome and unbothered together. I hope we'll get more moments like that before the manga ends. One more thing: I was worried that Fujimoto would rush Denji's feelings for Asa, making their romance feel forced, but the way Denji reacted calmly and collected to Asa's breakdown while trying to console her was actually quite well done imo. It didn't come off as Denji liking her romantically just yet, which is good because he hasn't shown those feelings for her before, and it made the whole situation feel more natural and less forced. I believe Denji will only start falling in love with Asa in the coming chapters. Ultimately, my final opinion about AsaDen will come down to how Fujimoto handles the upcoming crucial interpersonal moments between them.

she actually isn't. the story points out several times that she can be extra-ordinarily resilient, even heroic, but she is also a confused teenager who doesn't have full belief that what she's doing is the right thing.
this is why she tries to subscribe to yuko's half-witted ideology, with less than stellar results.
when push comes to shove, she shows herself be just as capable of dealing with physical pain and adverse circumstances as the devil inside her.
it's sort of a coming-of-age story for a "super hero".
