i kid (mostly) but most real jobs require much more effort than coooooding. even if you restrict it to white collar office work, you at least need a lor of knowledge if not actual thinking skills. even IT, which this thread chimps out about being "not tech work", needs a baseline of electrical knowledge and to at least know righty-tighty lefty-loosy.

For me it's a lot easier to know those things and implement them at work while also being able to enjoy what little of the 4HL I can instead of doing coding at home, coding at work, coding at school, then going on LinkedIn (a vision of Hell) to find companies to apply to directly in order to get evaluated by a bunch of pinkhair stasi members-- I mean HR-- and the founder who is confused why I don't show as much enthusiasm about getting paid less than six figures for his "life-changing project (Tinder but for jobs)" which once he gets valued in the millions he will sell off to some Indian and never think about ever again.

Hard disagree
I know it's only anecdotal, but the only people I've ever worked with in tech that should have NOT been there, were people WITHOUT a degree.
Certification bodies are what you're most likely angry about. The dipshits that really didn't belong there, just had a mountain of CompTIA certs and couldn't do shit.
You can't tell me that CS degrees are overvalued when I have one and got passed up for a job because I "Didn't have an A+ cert"

This is why tech is shit right now. Nothing makes any fucking sense.

Your questions are really good... which is really bad. I can see that you've been screwed over before and havee worked at shit companies that pretended to be great places to work only to screw you on the backend. The problem with your questions is that it shows you are aware of the exploitation, enshitification, and outright abuse that is heaped upon developers by the corporate fagotry gang. The best strategy that I've found is to ask absolute softball questions, maybe one or two, to pretend convincingly like you actually give a fuck about whatever stupid ass useless company's stupid ass useless product instead of just doing it for the money. And then try to be pleasant until the HR bitch is done with the phone screen and is convinced that you are a compliant, job-whipped pussy that will eat shit and die from shit overdose while being gratefuly for the opportunity to eat shit in exchange for a few dirty dollars more.

There has been some GPA inflation as well as a number of lesser programs getting rid of/making easier some fundamental courses making their CS degree more like a trade program. Some schools 25% of their bachelor degrees are going to CS right now. There should be plenty of people with CS degrees that we don't really need H1Bs. Also, wages should also be going down based on the amount of people available. Instead, a bunch of people are not getting hired at all.

Like get two m/m audio extension cables, plug one end of one cable into the speaker port for one PC and the mic port for the other, then do the opposite with the other cable, then you can output sound directly from one PC to into another, and with some modulation you can send data.

So long as its secure transmission you can effectively have control over data transmission. All of this is theory for how it will work but it has to be tested.

Getting paid weekly is a thing in many countries. The whole "ill pay you every month thing" at startups is horrible because startups hustle hard to make money and getting scammed out of an entire month worth of pays sucks. Not to mention when you first start a job it means waiting a full month before you see any money which makes your time unnecessarily stressful. Being broke despite being employed is a bitter irony.

the endgame is turning everything into a financial instrument for rich people to buy and sell. the idea of making consumer goods is gone. it's all b2b and "valuation" pumping.

why do you think NFTs got so popular? part of the marketing for those was literally that you have "full ownership" of some piece of normally worthless data, so you can sell it to some other retard down the line or insist it "boost your portfolio" despite not being something that does anything. to these people everything has to be monetized and be individual vessels of absurd value, with that value not being based on its usefulness or function. these people need to be killed if we are to have any hope for a future

yeah basically. it's mostly stonk price x number of shares in existence but stonk price is easily manipulated and modern markets are irrational and mostly hype-driven.

lockheed lost like 80% of its share price recently because a few companies TALKED about not getting more F35s. they didnt cancel contracts. literally just said "we don't think we're gonna buy more than the 200 we already ordered because of all this tariff business" and the stock tanked even though it was already very unlikely that Canada and GB were thinking of having a combined air force larger and more advanced than the US's

and because investors are stupid and do no research anymore, the bajillion subcontractors that make the gear for those planes had their stock price be totally unaffected

desu you don't even need to beg for it. The couple of times I did meet tech recruiters and employers at some social event like a wedding they were almost ready to offer me a position on the spot. I never took them because I was already employed.
I feel like this is only because they tie a presentable face to a resume. This makes sense once you witness the level of tardness average "Tech" worker is capable of. They don't want the guy who tard rages outside a hackathon's award ceremony because he lost.

Listen man, do you want to sound like a midwit? Cause that's how midwits think.
Of course I don't think there's benefit in it. All it does is add context to my current situation. If I weren't to include or try to make them understand, then I WOULD look unemployed and lazy.
The frustration I have isn't because of people not believing me, it's because the gravity of such a situation doesn't hit home for them. I don't blame them, because it doesn't compute with how they think the world works. While they only rage against the confusion for a couple of minutes max, I have to live with the confusion everyday.

Why else would you explain the phenomenon of a holder of a STEM degree and 7 years of experience not even being able to find work if it's not just for exposing the lunacy of it?
