Don't fix this one but in future pieces consider increasing more curvature and gesture to torso and limbs. Now each torso and limb you drawn are very stiff and straight. It helps at the constructing to know the general directions but for sake of movement and impact and force, try varying the angles and how the torso and limbs curve and turn

A picture I recently finished. Kinda upset with myself on this one. Really felt my dunning kruger effect when I had to redraw the sketch like 10 times and even now I feel like I fucked it up. The forward thigh is bugging me, her vastus intermedius or whatever the fuck shouldn't be that high up, it should be lower than her pelvis but I guess I messed up attempting a difficult foreshortening pose. I feel like such a shit artist.

While still working a 9 to 6 wagie job, I've spent some months posting my works on twitter, pixiv and boorus. Then I started taking commissions from those channels, while still waging, for 6 more months. Just did as much as i could, slowly building up a tiny following and a couple regular clients.
Basically, my main advise is to post on Pixiv and boorus, since that's where people actually find stuff, and be prepared that it will take time.

It's a somewhat messy and personal method.
I use the vertical and horizontal reference lines to define the middle and the start of the pelvis, which should be the same height and width, then I connect the pelvis to the ribs by drawing the core, continuing with the legs and buttocks where the widest point meets the horizontal line, which should clearly be wider than the shoulders.
I do a lot of guessing and rely on experience if something looks strange or ugly, try to change it. You can also play with the height of the pelvis to make it more attractive on thin bodies with small breasts for example.
When I have to draw more complicated poses with perspective, I remember what David Finch said and draw the pelvis like 3D underwear as a reference.
I watched a lot of mikeymegamega tutorials in the beginning too.

7000 is overkill unless your printing an A1 size poster at 300 DPI (59.4cm x 84.1cm physical or 7016px x 9933px in digital/pixels). DPI is often set to 72 by default, but for web display it makes no difference (afaik). When you want to print artwork, 300 is the recommended DPI (Dots [printed] Per Inch) as more dots = higher quality print.

If you're not printing, draw at whatever size you're comfortable with, but 7k is gonna be a lot of zooming in and out for detailling, most of which is lost when you inevitably downscale for web display.

You might want to consider how social media platforms compress/display images based on dimensions, but I don't know too much about that, im sure you can google it.

You can make something dreamy by adding consistent bloom, but in this case it doesn't work, because edges that should be sharper are blurrier than those that should in fact be less defined.

I would say her ribcage is too big/ long. You either:
1.Placed the breasts on too early in the sketch/construction and misplaced the bottom of the bottom of the ribcage.
2. Were going for that elongated muscle girl look I see some jp artists doing..
3. Ended up overstreching her body at the shoulder with the arm raised.

I chose to make her head bigger to compensate, though I might have lost the style you were going for (small head big body) by over-doing it. Some other points.

Yeah collar bones are annoying till you realise less is more with them. Any definition you place for them is most often gonna be rendered, not lined. Even my redraw is showing more of them than I think optimal.

Picrel are examples of proportion pushing for muscular women. I forgot to get the name of the orc, but thats one I'd call well-balanced, nice to look at.

Nated's proportions are a little too crazy for me, franken women, but it's obviously deliberate and people like it for what it is. Your girl bore resemblance proportion-wise, though I guess it wasn't intentional.

Hidarikiki is another stylizer that makes nice drawings. Their proportions are also exaggerated but it's overall balanced because of the widening of everything.

As long as you have a solid grasp on the standard 7-8 heads, 5-7 head anime style proportions (or better yet, both) and landmark alignments, you can stretch proportions however you like to fit the measurements of your character. Definitely key thing in your case is to at least use rulers to line symmetrical things up ,more. The bootom nodes of the ribs (should be beneath the breasts), The shoulders (really the trap following the action of the left arm is throwing the torso off a lot), the hip line too, I can see you getting a bit loose around these areas. Be as intentional as you can.

im inconsistent too. My style varies by mood and how much sleep I have, its annoying.
I think the easiest way to make cel shading more 3D is to add a thin bead of rim light or softer bounce light from the opposite angle of the main light source. I didn't demonstrate it very well, but I've done it a bit in the redraw. It indicates that the form turns to catch light on the further side. Just be careful to consider the lighting situation, play with values and shadow edge sotness/thickness, even in color. Sometimes its more suitable to had little black accents in unlit areas instead for added depth.

For this pool pic, Im guessing she's come to the pool and it rained so it was closed? Wasn't sure, started overpainting thinking it was summer time then realised. I like the concept, and your drawing style is nice.

Any how, you've got value issues before you start worrying about big bad rendering. The right thigh has no where near a dark enough shadow, and your highlights are cutting up any chance of value grouping that might make the image more readable. You don't need to do it my way, but definitely look at what other artists do for water effects.

I've tried to clean it up a bit to show value more than anything, though more can be done to make her stand out off the BG - with calue and shape I mean.

Fun to draw, but unnecessarily time consuming.

When it comes to perspective I'm always trying to lower or make the camera angles as dynamic as possible, and adding some fisheye effect to trick the eye in not noticing all the mistakes of me eyeballing, sticking to something more grounded and squarish is probable better for composition and the vibes.

- Face features are too flat or isn't stylized good enough.
- Elbows are too round and arm volume/position isn't defined good enough in general

And so on. A lot of smaller mistakes, but together they kinda bring everything down.

For the pose itself a good and simple way to enhance would be not to put the arms in such an awkward position. Right now they are positioned in the same plane as body/shoulders. It's really uncomfortable to do - try it. Put them a little forward, squeezing the boobs from the left and right, ideally a little asymmetrically. Possibly make the shoulder tilt more extreme - Paul Richards advice on doing anything more cartoony is to always exaggerate the pose compared to the reference you are using.

You're at that stage where you're art is good enough to catch an eye, but "off" details become noticable because the art overall "isn't quite shit", it's just missing a little bit of effort. You are very close here.

I redrew it, but at first it somehow looks like there's very little difference. Look closer, you'll see the differences. Pay attention to symmetry, even at non-symmetric angles like face-forward. use rulers to construct, and flip the canvas often so you can see what you're missing. Take breaks, then come back to it, and you'll often see errors. Good job though
