Alright, i feel a bit retarded right now. Each time i would play the kingdom of Brodfeld i would go through all the civil war focuses, carefully rearrange my divisions in defensive positions and win a long war after enriching and destroying most of my opponents' army. Usually it would take around a year, maybe even longer.
Today i realized i can just maneuver around the communist army and rush the VPs. Civil war won in 23 days (!), less than a month.

I have to say, Better Ruins' Crossroads is positively funny. A colossal (no, COLOSSAL) ruin that completely ignores climate and generates a 20-chunk-radius hot desert biome around itself so it can be used as a giant greenhouse... whose only useful loot is a map towards another ruin.

If we did another, it'd be on vintage story just because that's what I actually play now and I'd rather host something that I can actually enjoy with everyone else.
It's also a lot easier to mod and get running since I wouldn't have to fuck about with a mod downloader or try to rework a preconfigured pack.
That said, I also know that most people would probably be a bit annoyed with a move like that since it's horseCRAFT not horseSTORY and we'd be pretty starved for options on technical mods, which would leave a pretty notable portion of people out in the cold.

TL;DR, if we did horsecraft on VS, would everyone lose their shit and try to lynch me or would that be cool?

Sliding dirt would be off, it's always been a pain in the ass, I get it's supposed to give a purpose to packed dirt but it really just makes everything 10x more annoying to do and causes slips almost constantly.

No, it's supposed to emulate TFC but extremely badly, because in TFC even at its worst dirt only slid like that WHEN WET plus TFC has extra stability mechanics - if a block is supported from below plus at least 2 other sides, it won't slide - this way you can build 1-thick cobble/dirt walls or 2x2 pillars by using a scaffold, or in 1.7.10 directly because the slide is delayed.
Speaking of TFC's mechanics, has anyone made a "water needs 2 rather than 3 adjacent blocks to make ful block" mod for VS yet? Making/repairing ponds is obscenely painful otherwise. If not,
then at least install "harvest lake ice with saw" mod.

I actually played around with it a bit last week, it's nice since you still have to remake tools relatively often but can re-use certain tool heads more frequently, still found myself going through pick/knife heads often while my hammer heads seemed to last a while.
It does actually track both the lowest part durability and tool sharpness (if relevant) on the hotbar at the same time.

Smoked/cooked also has issues. Some things should outright not have spoilage to save CPU cycles due to how easy it is to make them last forever. Cooked muffins last 432 hours - that's as long as once-baked hardtack while having several times the satiety. Vanilla charred bread is only 420. Plaintext, but you need to upload the mod to official mod repository for it to be automatically downloaded when joining the server (yes, it works on pirate servers too), so you need patches rather than directly editing the files for both convenience and not-having-the-mod-taken-down-by-jannies.
The official modmaking thing produces patch diffs for you, but the setup for it to patch mods is a bit annoying (you need to unpack the mod into the game's own files, then use the "use local files" option in modmaker, then make your changes and use the "create patches" option).

It's a great game. It's a roguelite but with almost no metaprogression. It also has a lot of obscure mechanics that you can take advantage of with some cleverness. I really like the sense of progression it gives you—you start out as a wimp with 100 HP and a starter wand that does 20 DPS, but you can realistically reach 10,000 HP and 100,000 DPS (in that webm I have 1400 HP and maybe 5k DPS). And of course there's a good pony mod for it, with about a dozen characters to choose from

As far as I know, you can would only be able to play with other pirates. People generally get the base game (it goes on sale for 75% off often) and pirate any DLC they want with CreamAPI.

That being said, I would not recommend the game unless you are genuinely autistic, it's actually pretty damn good, I've clocked in over a thousand hours, but it's a goddamn time vortex, an average match will be 3 hours minimum if it's fast, usually closer to 5. The pony mod is also well made if that factors into your decision making

Funny enough I wasnt trying to do a statement or anything, I had a genuinely garbage run and I was sort of underleveled and undergeared for the boss fight, basement black knife assasin wouldnt STOP DODGING MY ATTACKS and one Gaol spawned a dragonkin soldier, in which most of my attacks and guard counters went into his empty abdomen, and whiffed most of my attacks
Honestly Heolstor is not hard for birb, he feels like a Stamina/Good Greatshield check, Adel has given me much more problems than he did

She has the wand of sameness as first wand, with chainbolt as first spell. Easy to kill four mobs per click without even aiming at the start and basically can carry you past the ice level after changing to another wand midway for quicker fire easily.
The first trait also means you can defend/attack with the kick. Makes you more vulnerable to close range enemies if you want to try to focus on that much, but while gimmicky, just throwing things and crushing enemies is often stronger than any early or even mid wand, with extra money to boot in the pocket after

Sunset is great as a starter for survivability due to how much fire you can ignore too desu, but I personally don't like the starting wand and she still needs to build up herself instead of being able to carry far down to accumulate spells
Definely the best long term and not needing to worry about finding fire immunity though
