Why is it so difficult to find people to just enjoy making music with nowadays? Just play some jams, some tunes, some improvs.
Back in the day my dad and my uncle would play some christmas tunes on guitar and piano when he came over during the holidays.
My grandpa as well went to go play music with his friends until his death basically, he wasn't a professional musician, they never did it with any intention of playing concerts, they were not a band or anything, but just to have fun and have a beer afterwards.

Sounds very cheesy I know, but I kind of miss this way of just having people around to pull out an instrument with and just play some tunes, not for some youtube video, or to "make it", but as a normal social activity, like playing chess, or uno.
I remember how genuinely happy my grandma was when I just played some very basic stuff for her back when I first started playing.

Stew Mac has a three hour idiot proof tutorial on the aerosol paint process, I got a can of their fiesta red but it looks a little to light compared to my fenders… I won’t know until it try it out on similar closed grain wood with sealer/color/clear coat. Worst case I have to sand it off and try a darker shade.

Fuck that’s not a bad idea.. I mean, I’m just doing the face of the headstock. My concern with that would be weather causing it to bubble up or shrink from the edges. It would make getting the precise shade a lot easier though.. Colortone’s fiesta red is based on vintage and definitely a bit lighter, hot rod red actually looks closer to modern Fender FR. I’m probably just going to have to experiment with the two and possibly blend them and apply with a paint gun.

Save up a little while longer for a used Vintera or MIM Fender in the same ballpark price wise. Squiers aren’t horrible but once you try a fender you’ll wish you had the better trem system, electronics and overall QC quality.
